  • Usually I love giving stuff away, but sadly I'm too broke this time to do that... so I'd love to hear your stories, what you're working on, your current favorites horses, etc. :)

I've had a lot going on in my personal life and tonight I feel like I'm about to hit that breakdown stage, so I'm really trying to distract myself with this amazing community!

  • I recently put in for a new job. Higher pay and the hours are 3 days on/4 days off, so that'll be a definite change. Hopefully, I'll find out something next week. It's one of those things, if I dont get it it's no big deal, because I'm still doing good where I'm at. The hours would be nice so I can have a few more days with my girls. I've been so long in the job I currently have my mind is spinning hoping I can do a new job! :))
  • I just won this beauty in auction. Hes a 2g and so awesome! Was a hard win, too!

  • My tiny human just informed me that he couldn't "spin my (wedding) ring because the fingers are stabilized together!" Given that he just turned three, his semi-logical use of the word "stabilized" was hilarious to me. Other recent achievements of his include recognizing the things on our trunk as "hydraulic cylinders" and telling my husband that he couldn't untangle some cords because he didn't know how to unravel them.
On the other hand, he spent a solid 45 minutes chasing a laser pointer with my mom's fiance on Sunday, so... he's a verbally advanced cat, I guess.

  • Kind of a nice story about my dog. I have a 10 year old Cairn terrier, who spent the first eight years of her life in a puppy mill. When she first arrived, she was absolutely terrified of anything that made her feel trapped and did not know that human contact could be nice. At first, I could only touch her if I moved very slowly and never reached for her from above. We eventually moved on to sort of liking pets but never asking for them, and she would often get overwhelmed and have to walk away. Well, I was lying about with my preternaturally snuggly dachshund, and I felt something press up against my back. Lolly had decided she wanted to cuddle, too. For her, that is pretty big:). Who knows? Maybe someday we will even get past the maniacal widdling.

  • I have 7 out of 10 GMTs I need to make my Liberation homozygous GP!

Friday and Saturday I take the written test that is the second step in the process towards the career I’ve dreamed of. I’ve been trying to get to this step for the past two years, but never made it past the first until now. I have more hope that I’ve had in a long time.

I have an adorable little dog! I’ve had him for a month or two now. I haven’t had a dog of my own for over two years. He’s a yorkie, and I love him. He’s so smart and his training is going awesome! He walks in “heel” and sits, lays down, and stands back up on command. We’re working on going to a “place” and laying/staying, and we’ll add leave it/impulse control next. He’s so willing and so focused! He’s not real cuddly, but he likes to be wherever I am and that’s enough. Cheese is his very favorite thing.
  • I have 3 liberation fillies and no idea what to do with them, and I also have 2 yr old 1000 point sleipner mare that is hom chocolate but still need a whole bunch of GMT work :)) little bit in over my head tbh!

yesterday after my night shift i came home and decided to have a quick ride on my pony. rugs off, neckrope on and away we went! we have been working on tackless stuff, but this was the first time i'd jumped on cold-backed without warming up in a halter first. he's so amazing for a 5 yr old :-O

  • I don't normally do the whole grandmother thing of endless stories about grandchildren, but this one might make you laugh.

My 6 year old granddaughter was facetiming with me a few weeks ago.

"What are you going to do today Granny?" she asked politely.

"I have to do some housework and Granddad is going to the gym, so while he is at the gym I'm going to do my Tai Chi dvd." I replied.

"What's Tai Chi?" was the inevitable question.

"It's a gentle kind of exercise that is good for older people." I explained.

"Yes," she replied seriously, "Because you wouldn't be able to go to the gym with Granddad because you might hurt yourself." And then she added darkly, "And then you'd have to go to hospital."

    :-O

I'm only 2 years older than my husband!

  • I remember when Ellie was like maybe 2 years old, maybe not even two. My nickname for her is little Sith because of her toddler days. One day, a squirrel decided it had to climb up one of the electricity poles and you know what had to happen. So of course, we lost power.

She turned to Grandma (my mom) and asked her "Why is the lights broken?"

  • Thanks so much for the stories, guys! :)

  • I have a story about my 5 year old! My husband was talking about styrofoam peanuts and called them snowman poop. Anna pipes up and says snowman balls are white so they must be made of styrofoam too. I died! =)) she meant styrofoam balls! =))
  • Omg blu, that’s too funny! =))

  • I tried so hard not to laugh at that! We were in the car so I was sitting up front, I gave a sideways look at my husband and we both blew it! =)) started laughing so hard I was crying!
  • Ellie also calls popcorn chicken you can get at the deli "chicken balls"
  • BTW, one of the straws you gave me a few months back gave me my very favorite second gen stud (don't worry - I'm remembering to keep his bloodline in-house!):

And he, last season, gave me a gorgeous third gen stud (who only tested AGA, but he's got all the genes so I'm still thrilled for now!):
