Pasture Question
  • Okay, so I have several mares that I want to breed to my pasture stallion when they are old enough. A few of them are foals. Is it safe to put them in the pasture? Will the game try to sell them back because they are foals? Thank you!

  • I read somewhere to PULL the foals before the end of the month or they got sold back to the game ; I put all of mine in barns and tossed the mares into the pastures

  • You have to pull them before the 28th of the month, but putting them back in before they're three won't do you any good, as they're not breeding age.

  • You can not enter mares younger than 3 year old into a pasture. Any adult horse is safe in a pasture, unless it turns 18 during rollover, and will have a certain risk of dying, like any other horse in the game.

If you have foals in your pastures, you must move them to a barn before the end of the month, or they will be deleted (and you will be payed 2500 hbs pr foal deleted). It is actually a way of making money in the game, a foal cost 500 hbs to create in a pasture, and you will be payed 2500 if you don't remove it from the pasture, or you sell it in the auction.

  • @Herzeloyde, I've added my foals back to pasture after the 28th... unless it was just a glitch at the time. It's just not advised.
  • @bluchrystals that is a bug then. Ammit has specifically stated not to use pastures like barns as that is not their purpose. And the game may still erase foals that are put back into pasture after the 28th in which case the player is out of luck as there is no way to recover those foals. Once removed, they should not be able to be placed back in until a year before breeding age.

@Herzeloyde I think its only 1000 per foal left in pasture, not 2500 but i can't remember where it's written

  • Okay, thanks! I was just trying to figure out a way to organize who gets pasture bred and who gets hand bred. I have three extra barns, but I can’t buy another barn to house my future breeding stock at the moment.

  • I shoved all mares over 3 out in the fields ; then organized the fields ; then I organized the barns ; but that's the way my OCD works lol

  • For no reason should you ever put a foal you want to keep back in the pasture very good way to get them erased forever.

  • The best way to sort horses is to add a letter or number at the beginning of the name which will group them all together in the drop down lists in the pastures for quick adding.

Personally I use a prefix with the alphabet to sort all my horses by gender and generation. I also name the pastures with the mare prefix and generation.

I used to call my stables JOLO so all my breeding horses start with a J

    JS - stallion
    JL - mare

    a- 2nd Gen
    B- 3rd Gen
    c - 4th Gen etc.

That way all my JLa mares are listed together and JLb are together and I literally just go down the pasture list and enter the top set of mares that correspond with the pasture name
Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
