What do points actually do?
  • Don't get me wrong, I love seeing a pixel pony with tons of points, but what do they actually do? Is it an indication of how good a horse is in the shows? Do most people look at this?
  • The points add money to your daily payout.
  • At the top of the discussion list, there is one with advice for new players. The first item there is a good explanation of the point system.

Points are the surest way to increase you bank balance in the game.

  • @SandyCreekAcres ; quick follow up to that ; the daily payout increases as the horse shows and trains correct?

  • You're correct annismyrph. Every time a horse shows, unless it comes in last, it has more points added to its own total, which adds to the total points the player has, which increases the daily payout.

However, new players are able to create horses with a random number of points, up to 1000. Once a stable has collected 20,000 points, this benefit ends.

  • Another note as well, a horses daily payout is a constantly calculating and changing number based on their points & age. Lifetime payout is this rough calculation of current points making how many hbs a day multiplied by the number of days until they turn 18YOs.
However! I do *believe* that once a horse hits 13/14YO their daily payout diminishes because they get closer to their 18YO rollover time. They still retain value by the points they hold.

Also, say you have a 10YO horse that isn't showing well or adding points to his collection. After he turns 10, you can out him in the auction for the value of his lifetime points, see THIS EXAMPLE.

Hopefully that clarifies things for you!
