my weight loss journey
-
So in order to enlist in the military i have to loose 14 pounds. I have been working on this for a week and a half (maybe). So far i have cut most or all sugar (i wont eat anything with more than 10 grams of sugar), i have cut gluten out mostly, i have been drinking mostly water. So far it is working i have lost 3lbs and went from 155.8 to 152.8, which i think is an accomplishment in it's self. Im just super proud of myself and wanted to share!Licensed for Mushroom,Onyx, Watercolor, Ice 13, ice 16, Phantom lace, Phantom Diamond sparkle.

Nice! I'm just getting back on my diet. I started at 195 last year, got down to 155; that's when I'd fallen and got the TBI. While on bed rest, I'd gained back up to about 180. Sucks that brain food is high carbs. Ugh. Been back on the diet about a week now.
I believe in you! It can be done, just gotta stay strong when those cravings hit. Cucumbers and pickles saved my life. Haha. Don't get discouraged when the second and third week slow down. It'll pick back up as your body adjusts to the new diet.
My goal was ~150, but I probably wanted ~140. Was going for a look and not a number, personally. I just want to lose this belly fat and look fit again. -
@GildedFire why did you cut out gluten?

I apologise if this comes off as rude. I just don't understand why people would go gluten free if they don't have to.Post edited by Xzeina at 2020-05-27 12:42:42 -
@Xzeina because she decided it was the right option for her. Let's not make people defend their diet choices. :)Post edited by Ammit at 2020-05-27 13:28:29Need to contact me? Read this first.

I haven’t cut it out completly but I have cut out a lot of gluten. :3 it’s just something I felt like I needed to do.Licensed for Mushroom,Onyx, Watercolor, Ice 13, ice 16, Phantom lace, Phantom Diamond sparkle.

well ; if you are cutting carbs ; gluten naturally gets cut also ; anything (just about ) with a yeast or "rising" has some type of gluten ; no bread? then you cut gluten ; its common for people who are dieting to cut it without even realizing it

I have celiac and that is woefully incorrect @annismyrph. Gluten is a protein found in specific grains, mainly wheat but others as well. Tons of gluten-free stuff is risen or uses yeast. Yeast and chemical rising agents are gluten-free.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Congrats @GildedFire! Sounds like you are on the right path. It can be hard to be disciplined with food choices and physical fitness, but you will probably see benefits in many areas of your life.
Entering the military is a great goal- may you find strength as you prepare for that important job. What branch are you planning to enter? My husband is in the Air Force - I've seen him get stronger and healthier from living the military lifestyle. :) (Now if only I could get it to rub off on me!) :))Post edited by Crowned1 at 2020-05-28 04:53:58
