Stars n Stripes

:D My DHH was a Stars n Stripes, I created a mare and a stallion. They papered and pt'd low. C, Yellow, pt 9.9 How do I go about breeding something that papers this low? Is it worth breeding just for the rank? Suggestions, ideas anyone please?
-
most foundies and almost ALL RS will PT at 9.9 and/or yellow ; this is because this is where we start and then build them up ; you can buy "boosts" 2% will usually give a stud a B, 5% will usually have it hit AThanked by 1OopsDotCom

All rank specials that are not specifically stated to be Exceptional Producers or Exceptionally Perfect are Perfect Foundations. They are the best ordinary creates can be and are guaranteed to have 100% breeding ability--the very top of the C/Yellow breeding level, 100% showing ability--9.9 PT, and perfectly consistent, meaning they will always have exactly the same score both times they show in a given week.
As annismyrph has said, this is where most horses in the game begin. I would definitely plan on breeding them.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
I thought I asked this already but can't find it again. I can't tell by the genes if they're one of the special orses. do 2 specials such as the Stars and Stripes not produce a stars and stripes foal?
-
@OopsDotCom nope, the only way to see if a horse is a Rank Special is by their "somatic tattoo" which shows above their genetic test results, it's the little image that will say the name of their Herd Helper (like Stars & Stripes). Foals that are bred from parent horses cannot be Rank Specials, it's just a foundation create thing. So two Stars & Stripes horses will have normal foals that inherit their genes just like other foals :)
Hope that helps.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
So basically, they eat your oats, mess up the stall, and stand there and look pretty? Sounds like my dog. Darn, I got all excited when i got a second one.
-
@OopsDotCom I suppose you could see it that way :)) What makes them more valuable and rare is that their gene combinations are unique or very unlikely to occur in regular creates :) For example, some Rank Specials guarantee a copy of Dense Pheomelanin or Pearl, both of which are rare genes! So the Rank Specials are a good way to find rare combos of genes in foundation horses, and they WILL pass those genes on. It just won't give the foals the rank special "name".
Again I hope my explanations make sense :D There is a lot to learn.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
Yes, you make a lot of sense, and thanks for the advice. Genetics is such a pain once you start breeting for something other than PT.
