"Showable Only"
-
Edit- Looking at responses, I now realize this is a stallion, not mare
So excuse me if this is obvious but I just bought basic upgrade with IVs and papering is new to me. I understand Gold, Blue, Yellow, Red and Failed, but for the first time a test came back as "showable only"... I've never seen that before. Does that mean she's just, exceptionally bad, when it comes to breeding? If that's the case I'll be a bit disappointed, as she's a True Breeding (insert colour) Herd Helper create that happened to be exactly what I was looking for
Thanks in advance

I've never seen a Showable Only, can anyone shed light?
Yeah, unfortunately, the True Breeding are basic creates in terms of ability so they can be spayed =((HJ1: 266615

Stallions can paper in this order from bad to amazing.
Showable only, C, B, A, and *Star
Mares can paper in this order from bad to amazing.
Failed, Yellow, Red, Blue, and *Gold.
Different names but basically the same thing for both genders.

did he pass BA ? and then got a showable only paper?

@annismyrph he's untested so he has not gone through BA yet. But I'm pretty sure he'll 100% get gelded because he's showable only.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

I guess I've never tried to SBA test a Gelded Foundation, all of my gelded 2G's paper C so didn't realise it was different. Thank you @wolvenfrost.HJ1: 266615

I just added this to the FAQ/User Guide earlier this week: Unless the description of the Herd Helper specifically says Perfect Foundation, Exceptional Producer, or Exceptionally Perfect, there is no guarantee that the horse will not be spayed/neutered when tested.
Only Rank Specials are guaranteed to be a minimum of Perfect Foundations (well, besides the herd helpers that are NAMED Perfect Foundations, Exceptionally Perfect etc)Post edited by ConfluenceStable at 2020-06-14 17:12:34

@DarkFrost now when it comes to 2G foals and Foundations, it's different actually. A foal can paper the same as their Sire or Dam and still get snipped.
BA and SBA only allows foals to be intact if they are better than their parents in a certain thing. I can't remember what but, I think it's breeding ability? You'll have to ask others as I'm not certain.
I know with SBA the foals have to be better than both parents to pass, it's pretty strict.
Might be the same with BA but, it might be the colt has to be better than the Sire to pass but can be worse than the Dam. Same with the fillies. You'll have to ask someone else as it's been awhile since I was up to date on these things though. Lol.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
The foal can also be about as good as both parents and still pass SBA, the tolerance is just a little tighter for what is passable than with just BA.

I just can't believe how many brain cells I've lost during the past few years. It's annoying when I read stuff like this and think, I already knew that, why did I forget! Thank you for these posts. I'm testing my herd gradually, so this advice really comes in handy

Thanks guys. This definitely answers my question, and some! Also I'm not sure why I thought he was female, thanks for not calling me out on that :)Post edited by ZahhaksMyWitness at 2020-06-15 14:09:16
