I believe Ammit is in the process of working on mane and tail generation. It might be a result of that :)

I have seen the dual color in real horses, but never in the game.

You know, if I were you, I'd not be sure that these two color manes are normal. I saw one of my stallions' page and I discovered he has a weird colored mane and tail too, but they were...light orange with some silver.
