Is it brown or is it black?

Unless I'm seeing wrong, this horse is almost black and almost brown. what genes do this?

he is a straight up black horse ; nothing is added to him at all

Black horses are always EE/Ee aa, and brown (aif i read correctly) is at least Ee/EE at/tt and one copy of Ssty

Bravo, don't forget about black livers, though. If you're just looking at the phenotype they could throw your answer off! (Says the black liver breeding nut case....ok, they are all on HJ2, but I still have several thousand of them!) :D
