Ageing

I was just wondering how long it takes for a foal to age up, it is probably somewhere on the forums but I thought this would be quicker.

Every in-game year (2 months) they age by 1 year.Player id is: 223523

We're always glad to answer questions for new players, no matter how many times they've been asked.
Horses age up with every game year, which lasts two real life months. We are currently in the first month of the current year, which will run through June.
If you look up in the corner of your game page, you can see the current game time, which is keyed to Eastern Time in the United States. Next, you will see the current game year (60), and the current Era, which is a way of breaking down the lines of game horses into manageable groups for award purposes. Since this game has been running for almost 10 real life years, you can see how that might be helpful.
Underneath that is an announcement of when the next breeding season begins. It currently reads "July 2nd." The game year starts on the 1st of that month, but breeding for upgraded members begins on the 2nd, and for people with free accounts on the 3rd.
Game years start on the first of January, March, May, July, September and November. All horses, except foals, will add a year to their age at that time. Foals are a slightly special case. If they are "born" in the first month of a game year, they will be classed as foals until the end of that month. They will age up to yearlings on the first day of the next month, and to 2 years old at the beginning of the next game year.
The breeding season lasts through the 27th of the second month of the game year, except for a few days at the end of the first month and the beginning of the second. I'm not sure right now if foals born in the second month are called foals or yearlings, but I suspect it's the latter. Someone who has taken the time to observe this may come along and correct me if I'm wrong.
Horses have an increasing chance of dying from old age starting when they turn 18, but a fair number of horses survive that hazardous birthday, sometimes for quite a few game years. I have known times when the oldest horse has been 30 or more.
Horses can be bred until they turn 20, and can be shown until they age out of the game, whenever that might be.
The oldest horse in the game at this moment is 27.

By the way, Welcome to the wonderful world of Hunt and Jump. This is a fascinating, complex, and addictive game which keeps many, many players engaged for years. I've been playing since early in 2011 and there are a few people who have been playing since very early in the game's life. Some people, who have been forced to stop playing because of circumstances in their lives, come back when they again have the time to play.
I hope you come to enjoy it as much as many of us do.
And never hesitate to ask a question. We're always delighted to answer them.
Make sure you check out these two threads:

and this one where you can request to adopt a horse for a very, very low price. Many of them are older show horses (geldings and spayed mares) that are well started in their training and have earned a fair number of points from their show placements. These horses will immediately add to your weekly income and be a boon to your stable until they age out of the game. If you find a horse you like, just click on "Message" under the name of the person who made that particular post (Many, though not all, of these horses are in my keeping.) This will give you a place to send them a message about the horse or horses you'd like to adopt.

Sorry, Ammit. It's probably because I haven't taken a thorough look at the whole thing.
