When i click "breed this pasture" nothing seems to happen. The mares still say 0 foals this season, yet it says 25 horses found to breed, no foals are produced, if I click on remove all foals, it says 0 foals removed. I tried closing the page and reopening it, tried using "breed all pastures".

Its because your stud has reached it's cap for how many foals he can foal this season!
For a basic upgrade your stud can only have up to 50 foals a season, you will have to choose a different stud :)

Oh, and how do you tell how many foals he has had this year,since the foals listed under "family" show the total from all years?

On the pasture page, it tells your 'foals bred this season' by your Studs details.

You can also find the number of foals this year on the stallions page in the 3rd row below his picture.

I can't see anything obvious. Did you implant an embryo into the mare? It would mean she would have had a foal but it wouldn't show in her statistics.

Implanting an embryo would mark her as bred. My et mares show as bred. I don't see why they wouldn't breed.

and while I'm at it, why can't I auction this horse? he's at a barn, not a pasture. The auction tab just doesn't come up on his options.

You can only enter horses when the auction is not taking bids. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are the bidding days. You can enter horses on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I am not sure if the auction accepts horses before bidding starts or after it closes on bidding days.

you can try via the barn list ; check his box then scroll down and say "Auction" ; it MIGHT let you do it that way

Just check the box on the barn list and press auction. I do it all the time now cause of fun create sprees. :x

The auction wont accept until it is done with bidding,, try after 8pm today. The auction runs Tues Thurs Sun.
