I need help I'm very confused
-
Hi I'm a new player can someone please help me out?! How do I play this game and how do I earn horsebucks?
-
Hello, welcome to the game, I hope you're having fun so far! There's a lot of different ways to play the game, so it really comes down to what you personally enjoy the most. I started out by experimenting with different genes and using the search to look at other people's horses until I figured out which colours I wanted to breed for. Now I have three main "lines" that I'm trying to have improve in each generation. Plenty of other things to do as well.
In terms of earning money, you're in a great position right now because new players get to create horses with Points until they reach a total of 20,000 overall. If you look at a horse's page it will have a bunch of information including Total Points (all the points your horse has earned/been created with). The more Total Points a horse has, the higher their Daily Payout (the number of hbs that you get every day just from owning that horse). Current Lifetime Payout tells you how many hbs that horse will earn you by just sitting in your barn until it is 20 years old. You can earn more points by training and showing your horse each week.
For making money I think the recommended strategy for new players is to create a bunch of horses, then sell the horses with lower total points (under 200 or 300 or so) for around their lifetime payout. By then you should have a barn full of lots of 200/300+ Total Point horses that should give you a Daily Showing Bonus of over 2,000hbs. (Showing bonus can be viewed either on your Member Home page or by clicking that circle icon at the top right of the page). If you get a Basic Upgrade you'll also get 12,500hbs every Sunday.
Once you've saved up enough money, you can go to the Upgrade tab to the Voucher Exchange and trade in money for IVs which you can use to purchase more barns, which lets you own more horses, which means more points and more hbs, which means more barns... you get the idea.
This post is a great explanation of all the details: https://www.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/27151/attn-new-players-want-to-know-how-to-make-money-to-support-your-hj-habit#Item_32
And the FAQ page is another great resource as well

Hello Ponie! I way I recommend getting a higher daily payout is getting older show ponies. 20 yo show ponies and older give you the more daily payout! Usually big barns sell off there 20 yo's to the auction. You can find these on the search. So if you do do this you click horse search under community. Then when you get to the page he first box will have things that say any auction sale and breed. Click auction. Then you go to the age box and you can put in the oldest you want the show pony and the youngest. If you are doing this for show ponies I recommend for a older show pony put 10 for youngest and like 21 for oldest. Then scroll down the page and hit search. Then the game will try to find the matches to what you want. When the horses pop up find one or how many you want. Once you found one you like click on the horse scroll down to the bottom of its page and it will say bid on this horse so if you want to bid on the horse click bid but if it says the auction is not currently taking bids that means it is only auction entry say so that is the day is when you enter the horse in the auction but if it doesn't say that you can bid!!!
Also do like Breyer because I love Breyer's! I just got rid of all f my classics like 1 to 2 months ago and have been getting more rare traditional's like Shasha Moon and soon I hope to get a conga of the Esprit mold, Ethereal, Flash, Show Jumping Warmblood, Silver, Cantering Warmblood and Bristol! There is so many! I hope you like HAJ!!!Blu.EQ Stables #267810

uhm ; not to confuse you more BUT ; when buying horses from the auction ; buy 9 year olds ; then resell them the following month so you get the full payout ; IF you choose to buy 20year olds PLEASE make sure you sell them before months end as Horses can "die" every month on roll over ( the first of the month ) after age 17 or 18. Every month is a horse " year" there are a few really good Discussions on how to earn and how to get "unconfused" I will link them on the bottom of this. Also the communnity for the most part is very freindly and helpful :)
please be sure to post in your peer group discussion page ( if on a computer it will be orange on your left task bar ) for your welcome pack barn.
