Are you interested in earning game credits in exchange for art? We need tack items for all body types. Light and heavy types need their own tack items, and the medium horses need updated art. I also would like to greatly expand our tack offerings. At the moment just standard hunter/jumper tack items but it will expand to novelty, seasonal and other discipline tack in the future.

If you are interested in being a game artist post an example tack item below. You can choose any body type including foal. Must be exactly a 16hh chestnut horse as the base image. Draw your own tack item on using 1px black line art. Must have a copy of Photoshop. Must know how to use layers. A redraw of a current tack item is your best bet. This is just an example item. If I like it I will PM you and provide specs. If you can't follow these instructions, I won't be able to work with you.

I also pay cash to artists with whom I build a business relationship with. So if I like your art and like working with you I will gladly pay cash.

I was unsure if your specifications regarding line art meant that you wanted purely line art sans color, or that you wanted the line portion to meet certain specifications. This one is only line art, but I can also provide examples with color upon request. I have the adobe suite and a Wacom tablet. I'm a senior BFA art major and so have plenty of experience with this type of work.

With color, but with using 1px width black for the line art. For the above example I would not choose it because the horse is not properly tacked up. The girth is in entirely the wrong place. The saddle also does not fit the horse, with the seat being so thick it would dump the rider forward. Stitching should probably be toned down too since those would be like 2 inch long stitches at scale.

All tack items will also need shadows added to them. There is technical spec stuff about highlighting and shadows that I will go into if I like someones sample but just know shadows are a must.

I don't want to discourage people from trying but I am going to be a real stickler about accuracy. Members can be brutal about art that get added to the game (some one even stormed out and quit over the new horse art) so better I be the mean one. Thanks for going first, I really appreciate you being brave. Feel free to update the sample, or share something else. Tons of back and forth is normal as you know since you are in the industry and I need artists who won't shy away when I say "not that".

Thank you so much for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I've played the game on and off for the last 5 years or so and I've always been obsessed with horses, but I've never been lucky enough to learn to ride so your comments on accuracy are very helpful. I'll do some updating and re-submit some examples.

You can use GIMP or other software that has layers and can save off to png.

One more question: I'll probably try to sketch something like polo wraps or halter, are they included to the tack replacing too?

As other players are talking their graphic programs etc. - I use Wacom tablet and Corel Painter 2015. And I'm not an adult player (almost 15 yo).

Everything is game.

You must be an adult to receive real payment but I can take art from minors for game credit.

You must be able to use layers and save as a .png.

I designed polo wraps. I know, they aren't stunning, I'll try to draw something else, maybe it will go better.

And, hmm, I'm sure the wraps were drawn on the second layer, but I'm not sure what did my computer do with these layers. If something is wrong, I will fix it.

Those are not bad at all. I would like to see the front ones cup the fetlock a bit more and the far front one is on backwards. But great start. I would like to see something a bit more substantial before sending specs though. :)

I could use that as well but I would love to see a bridle or something equally involved. The pad is also really basic.

Whew! Done. Double pelham bridle. Probably something is wrong with the bit, it was the hardest thing to sketch. I'm open to criticism.

Just dropping by to say that work has been really crazy for me recently, and it's made me re-evaluate my time constraints. I don't think I'll have time to be involved in this project right now, but I'm still excited to see how it plays out!

I forgot about this! I have had this for a while. It's still really rough but it's a start. I know you had said something about adding other disciplines in the future and since I am currently taking an introduction to English riding (traditional dressage) class, I thought I would do some dressage tack (minus the blanket).

I tried to balance realism with a style that I thought matched the current art in the game. Let me know if you'd like to see more detail, or less detail, or something else entirely, I am always happy to take notes :)

I think this is a great start. I'd like to see the lines straightened up on this, the trim is pretty uneven, and the blanket should be level. (like this http://www.horsechannel.com/images/horse-keeping-images/dress-sheet.jpg)

I'd also nix the braid or nix the belly straps. (Or make a version of each really) Dress sheets with the braids tend not to have belly bands and blankets tend not to have hip braids. I think this is a great starting place and could really go somewhere.
