How do You sort?
-
How does everybody sort their barns? I'm about to start a huge rearrangement and would LOVE some ideas! I only have one strict line going, the rest are kind of all mixed together. Any suggestions helpful!
Thank you! -
i am an organized soul ; it literally makes my OCD twitch ; feel free to look at mine for ideas ( right now they are packed to the gills with Auction horses so you might want to wait til tommorrow lol )

I have a stud barn, foundation mare barn, lined mare barn, foal barn and 14 show barns...
Foals go into foal barn as soon as all of their testing is done and come rollover they'll go in either that stud or mare barns.. mares are put into pastures as soon as they are old enough. The only barn I ever need to sort and cull down is the stud barn.. anything snipped goes into show barns aside from a few surrogate mares I keep around for embryo transfer..Thanked by 1DarkFrost -
I do similar to Bambi, except I snip all colts at the end of each season if I am not going to use them. I do not keep any mares for embryo transfer, mostly just show herd right now.Post edited by DarkFrost at 2020-11-12 16:26:46HJ1: 266615

I have a barn for my personal breeding stallions, a barn for my public stallions, three barns for current breeding mares, a barn for extra mares, eight show barns, a barn for straw/egg collection, and two barns for future breeding stock. Every foal, new create, or new purchase stays in my primary barn until room opens up in their respective barn.I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!

I have barns for each of my generations up to 6th generation, a yearling barn, auction barn, stud prospect barn, then a bunch of show barns, and I also have a foundation mare overflow barn.

Your systems fill me with both awe and shame. I have no system whatsoever and just use the search functions for breeding.

I have barns for: gen 1 studs, gen 2 studs, gen 3 studs, gen 4 studs, show barns, primary barn

I also have at least one pasture for each generation up to 6th generation
