Homo GP Stallion that's not Homo GP?
  • So, as I was surfing through my studs today planning out breeding season, I realized something -- this boy was GMT'd to be homozygously GP (see the two GP tattoos from GMTing him) but it doesn't show up on him, and he's not eligible to be part of the Gastrula Plume club. I thought that was pretty sketchy, so I thought I'd check and make sure that genetically he IS homozygous for GP.

  • Oh, also, I have two clones of him. So they'd need to be fixed too if there's something wrong.

(they seemingly can't be registered in the GP club, either)

For what its worth, if there is something wrong, I've only kept 14 of his offspring intact, and only one of them has been bred - and her offspring I just gelded. Neither of his clones have been bred. I'll hold off on breeding any of them until I hear back from ya.

(edited to add the 2G and 3G details)

  • I believe that they have to be bay or brown based to show as GP and be registered in the GP Breeder's Club as that is how the genes express.
