I just upgraded to a basic account and I can't figure out how to make a brand. Help please. Thanks.

Go to Member Home , Account and Stable Registry, Scroll down to Upgrade features :)

It was a tattoo is there a way that I can make it show up on my horses actual image?

if it is exactly 25mm square?
then you go to your horses page ; select the TACK tab; scroll to the bottom of the page ; select "Tattoo" and choose where to place it ; there is NO option to see what it looks like in the different places ; so either experiemnt on 1 horse with it in all places ; or play with several one tattoo in each place til you find the spot you like

You actually need to design your tattoo in an image making program. There are some free ones online. Gimp may be one of them. I generally work in Photoshop, since I'm familiar with the program. If you have a computer with a Microsoft operating system, you should have Microsoft Paint available.

As annismyrph said, it has to be exactly 25 x 25 pixels square and use no more than 15 kilobytes of memory.

Once your tattoo as been designed, saved on your device, and uploaded to the game, you can find it by going to any horse's Tack Tab and scrolling down to the bottom of the page for the link to the Tattoo Manager.

A tattoo can be placed in any of the four corners of the horse's image, in one of numerous places on the horse's body--hip, thigh, shoulder, jaw, wither, neck (might be hidden by the mane here), or hidden invisibly inside the lip.

paint.net is a free art program, and a lot simpler than photoshop or gimp, mind you it doesn't have a lot of the functions the two others do. It's a lot easier to figure out. I use paint.net, and then just copy the image and drop it into gimp when there's something I can't do in paint.net
