Hbs into basic upgrade?

So I know you can basic upgrade an account using hasn't but I don't know how. I also don't have enough hbs and was wondering what was the best way to get enough hbs to upgrade?
I primarily use my hj2 account (which I paid to upgrade) but I have enough decent horses here now that I would like to be able to expand and such. However I am not financially able to pay real money for it (yay to young adulting) and need tips on getting more hbs.
I didn't have some of the special ranked (e.g diamond age, blackest night ect) horses that I could auction off but would that really make me enough hbs? -
You would need to go to the IV manager and convert your HBs into IVs.

At the bottom of that page it says IV shopping. There are all kinds of wonderful goodies there :D A basic up grade is 30 IVs for one year. Each IV costs 12,500 HBs or 375,000 HBs.
As far as getting enough HBS to upgrade I would try and buy one every two or three weeks until you have enough. As far as boosting your income I would not worry about keeping stallions (unless you have a RS that you are attached to). It seems that someone always has a few 1 hb stallys up and gelding will make you more hbs. You need show ponies!

Also, if you have any regular create foundies that level off immediately I would auction them as they are not likely to show at a high a level as a foundy that had not leveled off.

Oh wow that's a lot of hbs. I think I'll auction my popular RS and selling others that I don't need. My stables are a bit overloaded at the moment

You do not need to put your RS on the forum unless you want to. You should be able to save up the HBs by collecting showponies :)
