Lousy show scores, high points? Does Daily Payout change?

...and, does a horse's daily payout increase as he gets trained? Or does a horse that starts out at 2/day stay at 2/day all its life? (didn't want to start so many threads.
-
the Foal classes don't count ; its 2 per class so it literally 50/50 where the horse places
and yes the more he trains the more he pays also as he trains he will class up in the shows until he is 9 as his PT score is 9.6. he is an exceptional Producer not an exceptional showhorse ; if you are not going to breed him ; he will give you bonus HB if you geld him

Foal classes don't count because foals (yearlings) don't train.

Yes, I've been seriously considering neutering quite a few. I've got a lot of XPros, and 300 XPers, so I need to empty out my barns for the coming new year. How much more valuable (not price) is he worth? I'd hate to snip one then find out someone wanted it. How do you price your sales?
-
I think it's easy enough for people to create their own ExPros and ExPerfs that you'll move them a lot faster by putting them in the auctionFormerly OscarWildin

Thanks, Oscar, good point.

Daily payout is just 10.7% of the horse's number of points, so
number of points x .107
So as long as a horse is gaining points, their daily payout will keep rising- not to be confused with current lifetime payout, which is
daily payout x days until horse's 18th birthday
Horses only don't gain points when they're either not being shown or coming in dead last, so if a horse is sometimes placing anywhere above last, they will continue to add points.
Training does not increase a horse's points (or payout) directly, it increases the show score (which you can see in the horse's show records). As the score increases, the horse moves up the levels, The higher levels make more points.
You can see this happening with your horse. Foals don't train, so his score stayed the same for all of June. Then it started rising once he turned two, and he started rising through the levels.
I agree with annismyrph. He's got a decent number of points already and a nice PT for a foundation, so if you're not breeding him, geld him, and he will train faster and make you even more points! -
I'd like to thank all of you, your comments help me learn more about the way things work, and will help me decide who to simply neuter and who to get rid of to make more room in the barns. I've got ex pros coming out of my ears and barely any non-pro non-perf decent pt's . For now, until I get it down pat, I'm going to avoid breeding anything white to another something white. If the horse itself doesn't have white in the genes, do I have to worry about the parents or grandparents passing down their genes the way in humans red hair can "run" in the family?
-
@OopsDotCom a lot of white genes are safe pairings, I gave more information on your other thread. :)HJ1: 266615

Also ; please don't forget PT scores have NOTHING to do with breedability the only reason you pick a "line in the sand" for PT scores is to slowly ( and I mean SLOWLY ) improve the length of time the horse can train and give higher daily payouts ; if the mare is living in a pasture ;she wont show, she will train and she will slowly increase her daily payout ; if its a stud unless you LOVE LOVE LOVE them you need ONE for 50 mares ; that's your show herd; the geldings from all those blessed boys we get every year ; if they aren't As Good As daddy ; then snipperoni and poof insta show pony

Taliesin tattooed that on the inside of my eyelids for me. :D I'm having a hard time narrowing down the number of studs I have, but without them having produced several foals, I don't know how to decide. Given when I tried this game a number of years ago, I didn't have a clue what i was doing, bred the prettiest to the prettiest and high pt to high pt, and about all I knew was which end of a horse you put stuff in and which end of the horse stuff came out, and which end kicked and which end bit. Taliesin finally explained it in a way that I understood.
-
Taliesin is awesome!! you want to breed for Pearl , Diamond Sparkle and Silver Black Chinchilla ?
so you need 1 Pearl stud , 1 Diamond Sparkle stud and 1 Silver Black Chinchilla ; that's 150 mares to top out each of them ; pick your favorite of each and 2nd favorite of each and geld the rest ; unless you have 10 pastures you ll out breed your barns / pastures in 3 monthsThanked by 1OopsDotCom -
Ugh! I had everything written out, all what I've done so far and what my plans are (or lack of plans) and some questions, all in one message so I'm not spamming you, and the mouse fell and took the text with it. I'm so used to talking with my daughter by texting and just doing 1 thought or sentence at a time that I wasn't thinking what it looked like in a forum. (When you've had enough of me just say so please?)
Pearls and Chinchillas, Yes. Fairy Godmother gave me a Ex Perfect silver black. I put two chinchillas on him, and i have another that is chinchilla with hom diamond sparkle. I don't know if I want to breed the Appys for quality or for show (bootstrapping). Or split them in half and do both. I'll have to count how many mares and stallys I have.
I guess I need to find someone who is knowledgeable about both to look at my stock? Are you able to do that? It was you guys who found all those silver blacks in my barns for me. I'm gonna need another barn for the bootstrapping, and I can't afford $300 in one month for the monster barn. If worst comes to worst, I'll pack as many mares as I can into pastures and keep the rest and what won't fit in a barn or two. I also have 4 intact sea ponies. I thought keeping them intact would be a good way to save money for a rainy day. I'm going to go see how big a barn I could get.

you can ONLY Gmt Foundations or horses that the parent that didn't pass the gene you wanted on HAS the gene you wanted on it and only if the GMT - prospect has NO living foals
inconsistent refers back to the showring ; you bought them for breeding NOT showing
the horses that go back to Adam started with Yellow / C crosses ; that's where " most" horses start
if you leave the mares in pasture they give a bonus that makes them close to Red so breed them to B Boys (you ll get snips but you ll still be improving or just DONT test the 2g mares ) I put the generation in the back of the name lol ( LG Studname 2g Horse ID # { LG Gizmo 2g 123456 } ) because I sort by stallion first ; then generation since I started with mostly foundation stock
Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
So you would be able to GMT some lined horses that are unbred, but you can only change things within the confines of their parents' genetics. So if both parents have a copy of Pearl, you would be able to add that to a foal of theirs, but if only one parent has it, you won't be able to because there's nowhere that horse could have gotten that copy. GMTing earlier in your lines will lead to more horses that are within your standards for your line.
That's why I try to make sure my foundation liver stallions are homozygous sooty and homozygous DP, so I never have to worry about a foal not getting any copies of DP. I also try to mostly just keep the homozygous babies anyway, so it's helpful that my early horses have it.
I personally have bought horses that are a couple generations down, because I have the mushroom license but I only put it on a stallion and a mare, so I needed to be sure I would have more mushroom later on in my lines to keep it going, cause it only shows if it's homozygous.Formerly OscarWildin

@OopsDotCom I breed for Pearl Silver Black Chinchillas with DMSP, i’ve only got two studs. xD Theres a few more genes in there too will be fun to see the variety of foals.Post edited by DarkFrost at 2020-07-30 09:05:07HJ1: 266615

OopsDotCom Never! We never get tired of people asking questions! Ask as many as you want to, this is a complicated game ;)
All the potentially dangerous genes will show up in a genetic test, no "hidden" gene can hurt anything.
Here's all the KIT genes (white spotted, sabino, tobiano, roan) and their no-no crosses:
https://www.huntandjump.com/faq.php#870
I recommend saving that pic to your computer for future reference.
You also want to avoid frame x frame, splash 2 x splash 2 or splash 3, splash 3 x splash 3.
But! There are some people who cross dangerous genes all the time and don't mind too much (if you're pasture breeding you're really only out 500 if you don't get a foal). And even people who are always careful, like myself, mess up sometimes. I've lost 3 or 4 foals since I started. It sucks but you won't get in trouble!Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
Thanks so much peeps, when a bit of the information confuses me, another of you manages to include it
@ DarkFrost: Ooooh. Now I know where to come if I need a stallion or mare :D
I have one stallion Silver Black Chinchilla DMSP. never thought of putting pearl on them. I only have a few pearls so far, I'm going to haunt you. Can you put up a picture of one here? I can't visualize what the pearl effect will do.
Do you keep your generations even?

if you search for "bronze" the bronze age horses are pearls and am sure some of them have been RGS'ed lolThanked by 1OopsDotCom
-
Thanks for the advice!
-
i put "bronze in tattoo and none came up for sale or for auction :( I'm so hopeless at search. I can search my own horses for ones I know I have and nothing comes up for 3 or 4 tries
-
Eh there may just not be any Bronze Ages for sale. They're a lot of people's favorites (including one of mine).Thanked by 1OopsDotCom
-
I found some het pearls... i may try breeding them to a hom pearl and see if i can get a hom foal. Is that logical?
-
Yes, that sounds logical.
Also, I'm auctioning off a Bronze Age mare. ; )Post edited by Xzeina at 2020-08-01 22:13:24Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
if one wants to keep breeding even generations, wouldn't you need a stallion for each generation?
-
p.s. I hope you all realize I'm going to plagerise you in my notes lol. No seriously, I've started a notebook. If I ever quote you in a post, I'll be sure to name you as the guilty party.
-
@ Xzeina ... Ooh Ooh where?
-
If you click on my name then it should take you to a page where you can see all the discussions that I have started. It will be at the top of the list.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom
-
also you can still LOOK and see what the genes look like without buying it 0.o just search " any" and put "bronze" in the tattoo space ; that way you ll be able to see a ton of different onesThanked by 1OopsDotCom
-
Sneaky, Anni :D
-
Xzeina did anyone buy that bronze age horse?
-
And, why does searching for it turn up as no horse was found by that id number? I've seen that message several different horses
-
That horse was being auctioned 5 months ago.
If no horse is found with that ID# then they have been sold back to the game and purged from the systemPost edited by Bandit1119 at 2021-01-06 17:07:22Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes -
