I'd love to breed these. From what I can tell they need to be Ccr and double StySty. But not all show as chocolate palomino. What am I missing for the perfect combination?

They need DP too :)

Dense Pheomelanin. It is a gene that is not testable on the gene list. Some horses have it, some don't, and some have two copies, some only one, so you have to see what you can find. What you probably can do, is breed some cremello's to liver chestnuts, which are a bit more common than chocolate palomino's, to build up some pali's with DP, then breed them together. Good luck!

Where would the DP be coming from in that breeding scenario, Kerredans?

The DP would be contributed from the liver chestnuts. Liver chestnuts are dark chestnuts that carry DP.

You have to start with horses that are known to carry DP. It doesn't show up on a color test unless the horse is "liver" or "Chocolate" I have several horses that are Hz for DP but it will not show in the color names because it is hidden.

Also, keep an eye open for the Sooty Palomino Herd Helper. You may get lucky and create some with it. Not an easy thing, but occasionally one gets created.
