Significant Improvements to Pastures added and more in the works. PLUS SALE!
  • Players on our FB group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/huntandjump) picked pasture overhauls for the next round of improvements! Here is all the work that has been done.

    Removed Features:

    • You can no longer breed all your pastures at once, just entire barns at a time. All at once was causing hung sessions and confusion because the system could not handle all at once for larger barns.
    • The old navigation system that pulled horses into the pasture from the pasture page has been removed. This causes problems for larger barns and contributed to hung sessions.

Here is a list of what improvements have been made:
    • Instead of one email per year for all of your pastures, you will get an email for EACH of your pastures the first time you breed that pasture for the season.
    • The pasture page now tells you if you will receive an email beforehand.
    • Pastures will now tell you how many breedable stallions are in the pasture in addition to how many breedable mares.
    • Pastures can no longer make your account have negative HBs.
    • Pastures will inform you if you had any foals with lethal conditions.
    • Pastures will now tell you how many breedable stallions are in the pasture in addition to how many breedable mares.
    • Pastures will only show you the breed button if you have the money, breedable studs, and breedable mares to do so.
    • Pasture loading is now asynchronous. The whole page loads first and then it loads in the horses in the pasture one by one. This will help prevent hung sessions.
    • Horses in pastures will now show their genetic testing results for easier sorting.
    • Pasture foal display has been massively improved.
    • Moving horses into and between pastures now works the same as barns with the ability to mass select mares, stallions, or foals.
    • Optimization mode will now hide image thumbnails in pastures to help with bandwidth usage and load speeds.
    • Moving horses between barns and pastures has had significant speed and stability improvements.

Improvements I am still working on:
    • I am working to get true auto breeding (without login) back and working. I expect this next week sometime.
    • The actual action of breeding the pasture still needs to be made asynchronous to help prevent hung sessions. Again I expect this next week sometime.

Pastures have a huge sale going on right now so make sure and stock up to take advantage of all these new updates.

  • Thank you so much for your hard work, Ammit! How long is the sale going on?

  • That's awesome! I've already used a few of my pastures this morning and the load speed is much improved! I very much like the separate emails, too. ;)
  • @OscarWildin, On the page were you can buy the pastures it says that the sale will last until the 17th I believe.

So does this also mean that we can now breed Whole barns at once instead of breeding a stud to mares in a barn one at a time? Like the pasture does? Or has that always been a thing you could do and I just didn't know it lol? :))

  • These all sound like awesome QOL improvements! Looks like I joined the game at the perfect time. Thanks for your hard work!

  • @Visions- I think you have to add horses to pastures from the barn page now or the horses page. You can't add them from the pasture page anymore I believe.

  • @Visions: I just did this: I located a mare in my Primary Barn to move into a pasture, clicked her selection button, scrolled down to the end of the horse list, chose a pasture and moved her into it.

I think it's probably still possible to select multiple horses at the same time to move them from barn to pasture.

  • Thanks for your hard work on these changes, Ammit. I really appreciate the fact that you are always finding ways to make the game better.

  • Not sure if you want this here Ammit or not; but just tried out a 100 stall pasture, it bred 93 mares out of the 100, and left one stud with the same amount of breedings as unbred mares.

    This pasture
Licensed for: All Axiom Genes, All Rainbow Riot 1 & 2 Genes, Splash M, Phantom except for Wisp, All Ice, Mushroom, Onyx, DFP2, Shatterglass, Chinchilla, Platinum and Height Regulator

  • @HelenofTroy That is always how pastures have worked. The mares are assigned at random. The first stud was assigned more mares. Just breed again and it will finish breeding them, or use more studs to always get all mares covered the first time.

You move horses between pastures and to pastures same way you have always moved horses between barns. Locate that horse and move them into it.

  • I love the check boxes and option to move them wherever you want, and how the foal pictures and genetics are visible! I always thought it was so overwhelming trying to sort through a list of numbers on the screen. Much easier to view and keep track of while I decide what I want to do with them. Thank you Ammit!

  • I let my pastures rando-breed but I'm excited about the new foal system! It was always a pain in the butt to move foals and now I can with ease! Thank you so much Ammit!!

  • I'm really loving the new pastures! Thank you Ammit! And the sale is amazing too. I'm so excited about this breeding season.
I love Warmbloods with lots of Sooty and DP. Dark Mahogany Bays, Liver Chestnuts, and Blacks make me super happy. I love horses with color, dfp1, nd1, gray, GP, and KP on the dark base. One day I would like to have a herd of high pt, well papered dark beauties. ID# 257941

  • Thanks Ammit! And 2 year olds can be added, which is nice if I don't get to the game in a month or so to put them in when they are breeding age, so they can at least sit in the pasture to accumulate breeding benefits.

  • I like all the changes except for the loss of adding horses directly from the pasture. My horses are sorted by name, so when I was in the pasture they came up really nicely for me and it was very easy to see who I wanted to add. I don't sort my barns so much because the horses I have changes so often that I am always shuffling around to make room here and there. Is there any chance that the feature could be brought back? I bought two new pastures to take advantage of the sale, but now using them is a nightmare, adding each horse individually from the search page. Is there any way to enter multiples into a pasture all at once? That really was one of my favourite features if the pastures.
    Hajinc - 16226
  • @sunbeam, I'm not sure if this would be an option for you, but could you sort the barn by name and then select the horses you need to move?
    Thanked by 1sunbeam
  • This is a very good idea, thank you. I have many barns, but this will be easier than using the horse search page and selecting every horse from their own page!! Still not as good as the original way to add them, but better than what I was doing.
    Hajinc - 16226
  • I noticed when the pastures " autobred" as usual they didn't breed the complete pasture ; but also the note said ; ( this is a 60 mares pasture )

You have 2 breedable stallions and 13 breedable mares in this pasture.
It will cost an estimated 6500 hbs to breed them
    Breed This Pasture

This pasture has not been used this season and will send a best in pasture email.

so I am thinking the email wont be a "true" indicator of Best in Pasture ; I am not upset in any way by this ; I just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thank you

  • To add horses to the pasture, I will have to locate them, open their pages, and move them into it one by one? Or have I missed an easier way to do it? Thank you!
  • I separate mine in the name by generation as well as color in my barns ; you can do a "barn" click and move several that way still
    Anni9

  • Ah, I am needing to sort out the ones that haven't been bred yet to put them in the pasture, so I'm having to search for them and add them individually. There isn't a way to tell on the barn page if a horse hasn't been bred for the year, right? I didn't see it
  • @annismyrph pastures are not currently auto breeding on Bluegrass so I am not sure what your post is actually referencing?

@McCasland Farms There will be via the search soon but our FB users voted for pastures first. Also if you update your name to no longer have the space tagging will work properly for your account.

  • Thank you - I will change that :)
  • It was in for like 5 hours on the 14th and has since been removed. There is currently no auto breeding on bluegrass but there will be in about an hour here. Basically the point about it not breeding the whole pasture is no longer true or anything to worry about.

  • I haven't been active in game much since it went to monthly but I do still play. I started using my pastures for most of my breeding. Went in today to add mares that were open. Please tell me the only option for moving a mare into a pasture is not having to do them individually. Hopefully I am missing something because clicking on over 875 mares individually is not something I have time to do. I loved being able to scroll list and add for each pasture.
  • @PintlalaFarm- You can move them to the pastures by the barn page in large numbers by checking there little boxes and hitting "Move Horses To Pasture" button, instead of doing them each individually!

  • Ok I tried that. Sorry for not understanding. I am on a tablet. My barn has 748 mares in it, most of which have been bred. Barn page does not show open or bred. If I do search then there is not a box to click option to select unbred mares so I could move into a pasture. I know this can't be this hard

  • I know it has been said before but i do miss the old way of adding mares to the pasture i have so many show horses trying to find mares to add is very time consuming and i keep missing them it was nice to just be able to mass add three year olds and new creates as needed. Love everything else though.

I will repeat what I said above. ;) If you guys really want that to be the next big update then make sure you vote for that to be what I work on next when I post the poll.

  • @Pintlala Farm might I suggest you move your mares into a pasture you are not using and then move them FROM there into the pasture you want. That shows you all the bred or not for the year, and should be a lot faster than via the barn. (Also removing the space from your name will make you taggable. )
