Tips for selling horses
-
long story short i want to sell some horses. I advertised them in disscusions but i feel as if no one sees them. Does anyone know how i can get more people to see them?I go by he/him. Its challenging for me to understand longer sentences and spell larger words, so sorry if i mess up a bit with stuff like that, Have a swag day :)

Selling horses isn't much of a money maker I'm this game. It is about your show horses earning money.
Fancy genes sell better, especially even bred and tested superior.
If you are still able to create horses with points, then you can often sell those for near their lifetime payout.
I really only purchase lined mares or colts for breeding and pick up cheap foundation mares with points for Embryo Transfer. All my profit is from my show horses and selling straws and eggs occasionally.Post edited by Humboldt at 2021-03-11 06:20:23Thanked by 1kokichispantauwu -
One important factor is setting the price. New genes will command high prices when they are very new, then, as more and more foals are bred with the new gene, the price begins to drop.
To get an idea of the current going rate for genes, you may be able to do a search for horses with given genes or gene, selecting For Sale in the status box to get an idea. Of course, if no one is selling horses with the gene you're interested in, there won't be any results.Thanked by 1kokichispantauwu -
Personally I found that selling pointed creates for 1/3 or their lifetime payout worked the best. Sure I didn't make as much off of them, but they sold faster and I didn't get stuck with horses forever. I also auctioned horses with less than 200 points, just to keep things easy.
Also a link of all the horses you are selling vrs one horse per page will probably help you more. Try to figure out who you are trying to sell to. Some people look for pointed creates or rank specials, some look for satin, DP, or bootstrap. Figure out what is the main typ of horses you are selling and title accordingly. This is a link to all the horses you currently have for sale. https://www.huntandjump.com/adv_search.php?runsearch=go&status=sale&owner=270797&128=0&129=0
I second Humboldt, while selling horses is fun it isnt a long term money maker. The way to earn money on the game is showing show horses. Many players keep a ratio of three show horses, for one breeding horse. -
What I did when I started was buy 10 year olds from the Foundation Rescue, then auction them. I got a couple thousand profit for each horse. I only did this to get some extra barns so I could start collecting show horses.
Last time I checked, 10 year olds in the Foundation Rescue are pretty rare here on the Bluegrass server, but there are a TON on the Forest server, so I’m using that selling method to get more barns for my show herd. I made something like 685K from the last auction, and that wasn’t even a fifth of the horses I had. I currently have about a 22K daily payout.
Showing is how you make money, but when you’re just starting out, selling some horses can help a little if you get creative :)I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!Thanked by 1kokichispantauwu -

If you can find a niche' stick to it. I can ask a lot for my KitM's. My appy's don't demand much price, but that's why I'm working to develop new genetic niche's with them. Specific colors are higher in demand...
I also breed for PT and lined horses. I personally am not interested in foundation horses or anything under 12PT and their is just sooooo many of them on this server. I guess foundation horses is a big thing...but I'm not privy to how that all works. Any horses that pass SBA and I can't use I put up for sale and rarely have trouble getting a good price for them.
Culling and auctioning show horses or sterilized horses brings money too.
Projects:

- Leopard Appaloosas

Foundation horses are considered a big thing because most people like to have their own homebreds, and a decent number of foundations are always needed to keep the herd going, both in terms of breeding and show stock, and with foundation horses, you can buy and own special license genes.Thanked by 1kokichispantauwu

Just a bit of an adder ; with UNbred Foundations you can buy the special genes ; if they have been bred you ll either need yum them ( sell back to game ) or create a new one
