Nexus
  • How to tell nexus and are there any drafts with the gene
  • Horses with heterozygous Nexus will have a star field on their coats. It looks as if part of a picture of a starry night sky has been overlaid on the horse. (Originally the stars were stylized five-pointed stars, but Ammit updated it to real stars.)

Horses with homozygous Nexus color test "ERROR:Unexplained Anomaly." Their coats are black where white hair would appear and blue where pigmented hair would be.

Nexus was introduced before draft horses became part of the game, so unless someone who bought the gene has introduced it into some draft lines, there probably aren't any drafts with this fantasy gene.

  • I posted example on one of her other posts..
  • I have a few Drafts with Nexus that I have started breeding, but my line is private, I don't sell or breed outside very often. You best bet would be to take up Redbuds offer on the other thread. But you need to start looking for the right foundation draft mares to put with her horse, which I believe is a warmblood, as Drafts and Riding horses were not available at the time Nexus came out. Look for foundation draft mares that are at least Bone weight of 3.15 or higher, so that you are sure that the foal will be a draft. I think the highest Bone weight for a foundation is 3.24 or 3.25.
