Family foal search bug?
-
I decided to go look at the foals for my stallion FS Mornasotan 3 by clicking on the link to his foals on the family tab, and the resulting webpage was blacked out. Nothing was showing on it, just a black background.

Can you post a link to the stallion? Also have you waited 10 minutes and tried again?Post edited by Ammit at 2016-09-21 05:40:56Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

I just tried again, and I still got the same result.
I got the same results for several different stallions in my stable no matter what generation they were. So it looks like all my boys are affected.
Hmm. At the browser window tab on the top where it would say for example HAJ Forum, I see this adv_search.php(GIF Image... after I click on the foals of stallon x link. That might be why I'm getting a blank black webpage instead of the search results. -
It works for me. Are you using a strange browser or mobile format? I don't understand what you mean by "(GIF Image... after I click on the foals of stallon x link" can you celebrate a bit. Thanks!Need to contact me? Read this first.

Nope. I usually use Firefox. I tested on Google Chrome, thinking that maybe it was a new issue with Firefox. I had to download and install Chrome. Well I still got the same thing.
I don't know what could have caused the issue, it was fine last week.
I clicked on the foals of stallion x link and got this http://www.huntandjump.com/adv_search.php?status=any&f_basic=none&f_adv=none&f_limit=25&stallion=1&mare=1&gelding=1&spayedmare=1&bty=1&lined=lined&foundation=1&sire=4105480&dam=&brindle1=1&brindle2=1&wf1=1&wf2=1&wf3=1&wf4=1&wf5=1&wf6=1
But... at the top of the window, on the tab, it says this (on Google Chrome) adv_search.php (1x1)
And the rest of the webpage is a blank black.
On a related note, I can't even use the normal search feature either.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2016-09-22 17:10:13 -
Sounds like the horses are stallions are totally irrelevant then. The issue is you can't use the search page at all.
It says "(on Google Chrome) adv_search.php (1x1)" <- exactly like that?Need to contact me? Read this first.

Yes on the browser window tab.

I am using a desktop computer. This screenshot is taken on Firefox. I still get the same display on Google Chrome, though.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2016-09-23 08:25:09

Update: I decided to test the issue on my boyfriend's desktop. He uses Firefox too. Well, the search worked fine there.
I suspect Eowyn did something to something. Only problem is that I have NO clue what she did and where the problem is. Any suggestions on what I could troubleshoot? All I know is that the problem isn't isolated to Firefox. It is the same on Google Chrome and I installed it yesterday. So it must be a setting or something outside of the browsers.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2016-09-23 10:30:25 -
Ok you are talking about the tab name not the url. I was really confused about that.
Yes it does sound like you have a security something blocking the page. The page uses javascript that may be what is being blocked.Post edited by Ammit at 2016-09-23 13:09:20Need to contact me? Read this first.

Okay, thanks. I guess I'll have to figure out what my options are. May have to do a wipe and install. Ugh, hope it doesn't come to that.
-
Start with the browser security settings to make sure Javascript is enabled, then look at any security software for the same thing. :)Post edited by Gael4ce at 2016-09-24 06:10:24

I knew that. Really I did.

I checked the browser configuration - javascript is enabled. I also refreshed the browser and now the horse images aren't showing. Not even on the log in screen.
My main browser is Firefox btw
I've been looking though all the setting options and I don't see anything that could list javascript.
I checked the search, and it still isn't working.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2016-09-24 11:07:56 -
Ok, whew. Looks like I found the source of the problem. It was my anti virus program, and it had to do with the anti banner settings. I simply made it so this website would not be blocked, and bingo, search works. Strange, though, it wasn't a problem before. A recent update must have modified the anti banner settings so it became an issue. I use Kaspersky, btw.
Thanks for the assistance on where to look for issues.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2016-09-24 11:42:45 -
Congratulations on a successful detective mission!

The "banner" thing would be blocking third party images. Anti virus stuff can be so odd.Need to contact me? Read this first.
