showing points

Hi Everyone.
Question on showing. I was wondering if you should wait on you foals showing before you start getting breeding advice:?
example I bred a really nice filly, C grade, sire is A grade, dam is Red. she got spayed when I did the breeding advice.
If I would have waited until she showed and proved herself would it have made a difference if i would have done the breeding advice when she was 4?
what are some of the things that are looked at to determine that a horse is a better show horse than breeder?
Her sire, if i remember right, has 348 daily points, how did they get that? does that grow with extensive training and showing?

Foundation horses(made on the create a horse page) can be 'born' with points if the account the horse was created on had less than 20,000 points total when the horse was created. All lined horses (non-foundation horses) get their points by showing.
Show ability of a horse does not impact the breeding quality of a horse. Breeding advice (also called BA) is testing a horse to see if they will produce breedable foals. Performance test (also called PT) is a randomly selected number that gives an idea as to how well that horse will do in shows. -
So its best to breed to non foundation horses? I have had some decent foundation horses that had some good points to them. I guess its all what the algorithm says.
Thanks for the clear up anyway! -
Foundation x foundation, 2G x 2G, 3G x 3G, etc. give the best chance of good foals.
It wouldn’t have mattered if you waited until the filly was older to do breeding advice. Her quality wouldn’t have changed. She was born show quality and not breeding quality. :)I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me! -
OK, thanks! that makes sense.
