Questions about generations
  • Once horses are at star and gold papering do you still need to worry about matching number of generations as ive got horses that i have no idea how many generations they are
  • I just consider horses like that "long pedigree" and don't bother to differentiate generations.
Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

  • I keep track, but the way I have mine set up it's easy to do. Each horse gets a blank tattoo for it's generation, so if I breed two sixth gen horses, I know the foal is seventh gen - I don't need to scroll back and count. :)
  • How do u do blank tats that sounds like a great idea atm i cant even find tats
  • Go to the stable management section of the drop down menu, select tattoo registry, then buy a tattoo slot (assuming you've used your free one), name it, then use it on whatever horse you want to.

You don't have to create an image for it - here's an example of a picture tattoo and a blank on one of my horses. "G42G" stands for Gael4ce Second Gen.

The blank tattoo won't show anywhere on the picture, which is my preference. I don't like a bunch of tattoos on the horse or picture. But I *can* search by tattoo name.

So when I want a second generation chestnut appaloosa stallion, I'd go to the search, select the appropriate genetics and gender, then put "g42g" in for the tattoo name, and the search would return all my second generation chestnut appaloosa stallions. :)

It makes finding good crosses much easier in a huge herd, plus it makes counting long pedigree generations so much easier - all I have to do is see what the parents are and add one, apply the correct tattoo, and keep going.

And as a side note, please use proper spelling and punctuation on the forum - we do have rules against "chat speak". :)

  • I need to go back to school to learn how to spell correctly and use punctuation again =( so sorry about that

On the horses page there is no way to add a tattoo any more i can only copy a tattoo since the new tack system
Have you recently put any new tattoos on any horses?
  • Tattoos have nothing to do with the tack system. :)
Use the control panel tab, and look at the bottom of the page for the tattoo manager link.

  • It was right in front of me all this time thankyou i found it now =)
  • They don't have to be blank Gael just doesn't want to bother with art. You can still ahve fancy tats and put them on the lip slot. They are invisible then. :D

  • lol, What Ammit said. :) I just think it's way too much effort to come up with a pile of tattoo designs. I have one that I totally love, and that I think is pure perfection. Anything else I'd come up with simply have be lesser so I don't bother.
  • I would do lip tattoos but it goes to the hip automatically so I leave some blank so that I can just hit the button and go lol
  • Yup, that's another reason I do it the way I do. :)
