Could someone give me a ballpark of how much HB I should have before ISOing an x/- or x/x stallion?

I would guess between 2,000,000hbs and 5,000,000hbs if you are waiting for that gene to come up in the revolving gene sales, but I do not know what the price of that particular gene is, so you might need more.

Oh I see. it's an orange gene I thought the gene sales were only for purple. Thanks

If you have a basic upgrade, then I could do straws from this 2nd gen stud of mine who is Hom Nexus, if you would like any? Straws are 7k each.

aw thanks for the offer but i don't have the upgrade. It's ok though I've got my eye on a few auction foals that should suit my purpose, at least I know how to find them now. Thanks for all the help.

Incidentally he looks amazing, how did you get the cool black spots? Was it a lucky axiom roll or is it a specific gene interaction?

Happy coincidence! The black spots are due to the kit M and KP2. If he wasn’t hom nexus, those blue parts would most likely be white :)

Fantasy genes act like normal ones right? If I were to breed the stallion to one of my own mares it has a 25% chance of inheritance? I think that's what I read I just want to double check.

Kit M and KP2 are amazing with Nexus! Those two genes together even without the Axiom will make the markings all fuzzy like that but white! If they don't have white genes then I believe Hom Nexus makes them more gray.

Thanks for the info. KP2 is pretty cool in general, I read a thing earlier about KP and KP2 and I think I prefer the latter. What do you mean by no white genes? do you mean none of the white marking genes at all kit, splash, PATN ect. or do you mean white factor?

@boredaf you can keep them; they aren't being used in my barns. And yes, fantasy genes work the same as regular genes when talking about chance of inheritance.

@boredaf- White markings/Patterns and White Factor can both have an effect on the final look of the Axiom/ Nexus. As Nightphoenix said a lot of the blue on him is likely do to his Kit M and to some extent his White Factor as well as the Nexus of course. And with luck he also shows his KP2 interaction! :)

This is a 3rd gen son of my boy who is also het Phantom Skulls and Hom Nexus but has a bit less White Patterns. So they don't show as much. You can see a few of his Skulls on his front legs though!

if I can get an x on her foal I think I'll have the start for a nice ax line. Plan on breeding for as many x as possible this season as my color line studs are all 2yo at the moment. Then breaking into proper lines next season.

That's a good plan! I think I should mention that a lot of player's like to keep Nexus and any other Axiom (except for Wrong Warp) separate from each other because they don't mix. If a horse has X and/or g, R, b then the horse will look like a normal Het Axiom instead of a Hom one, even though they technically have two Axiom genes on them. I made that mistake when I first started with a mare, unless of course you like only Het X horses which are still very pretty too! Good luck with your breeding!

Nexus and Rainbow Riot genes are the best combos. I like Wrong Warp mixed in because it gives the warped look on their rumps.
