This has happened in two different auctions on two different servers. I bid on horses, watch the "Bid Watcher" all day and a few minutes before auction ends, I have the high bid. When the sale ends, I do not have the horse, and it is back in the original sellers barn. Here is a link to one from today's auction. A few days ago, I bid on multiple horses and got none of them with no one else bidding. What's going on?

I put a higher bid on him around 7pm game time. He wasnt supposed to go to auction so was trying to get him back.

Do you refresh the bid watcher page?

Sounds like other people were bidding and you just did not see it.

@Humboldt you can remove horses from the auction at any time now.

Okay. Thanks Humboldt and Ammit. I understand what happened with this guy. How can we see other people bidding if they don't show up when you refresh the bid watcher? Do you have to log out and back into the game every time to get the update?
