5-6TH Generation Guideline Help/Advice On Star Papers
-
This season I have finally reached 6th gen with two passing Star colts from one of my first Star boys that I have ever bred myself! But I don't really have any guidelines for beyond 4th, so I was just looking for some advice on how others managed there herds passed 4th generation, thanks! I also have a question though, can you still get colts who are Sup to their sires at 6th gen if the parent is already Star papered? I was wondering if that was possible otherwise I have been gelding all AGA colts at this point and if Star is the highest that a horse can paper then should I still do that after this? Will there ever be a Superior Star horse from another Star? Both of the colts were only AGA. What do you do?
Thank you in advance for any insight with this! I could really use it as I am a little lost! :)
Edit: Here is one of the two Star 6th gen colts for a reference if needed! He was so pretty!

They will continue to be *Star as they have reached the breeding score to qualify for *Star papers but there is not a higher paper level But you can most certainly can get Superior to Sire so keep breeding. It definitely gets harder to get superior offspring each generation but it happens.

Yes, it's possible to get superior colts. It gets harder with every passing generation, though. Before I revamped my lines, I was up to 7th generation with either 3 or 4 generations of Star papered stallions that were superior to their respective sires.

Good to know! Thank you, so I should continue to snip all AGA colts at 6th gen and wait until I get a Superior Star boy then and do your generation guidelines pretty much stay the same as always for each gen as well? Sorry for responding late, I have had a lot going on lately.Celestial Angels, The Balinor Breed! We Specialize In Riding Horses & Ponies!
