Age and showing bonus
  • I've noticed that after a number of horses, you no longer receive showing bonuses automatically.

For subsequent horse creates, is it more advantageous to create yearlings vs 4 year olds? Will yearlings get a better daily bonus over time or does it really matter?

Which yearlings shiould I keep? Or should I hang on to them for a year to see their bonus before selling?

  • When I create horses now, I only keep the ones that benefit my breeding herd - foundations mares that are hom sooty and have DP. I only use herd helpers that are Exceptional Producers or Exceptionally Perfect. Occ I will create a colt that will be GMTd to be my next herdsire. Most of the time I create yearlings as it gives me time to get their GMT work done.

I no longer create horses for show. My show herd are my spayed/gelded lined horses. I occasionally buy pointed foundations to help other members earn money and boost some points for myself.

  • So basically sell the gelds and spayeds? I do have some high point ponies in those to bring in good daily points.

I do make a lot off of auctioning the yearlings I breed. I spend way too much HP on horses lol

Can you Gmt the license genes? Or do you have to breed them?

  • Are you talking about getting pointed new creates? Because that stops when you hit 20,000 HB Daily Showing Bonus.

Also, yearlings don't train, so until they turn 2 they will not improve. Their placings in show classes are basically a roll of the dice.

It takes a while before you can sustain your breeding herd with your foals. I only keep spayed/gelded foals that have a PT of 11 or higher, just because I don't have room for them all, but I have somewhere around 5000 horses total, and breed 2-300 foals per game year.

  • @ConfluenceStable really? I make under 20k daily showing bonus and don't create anymore pointed ponies?
  • I think its Points held not HB's showing bonus for some reason i remember it that way

  • Once you hold 20,000 points, you can no longer make pointed creates.

  • Lol! Thanks guys, I was confused for a sec there hahah
  • I don't even know what a "pointed create" is, let alone the rest of the discussion. Some of them make sense to me but not all. Above my pay grade I guess.
  • When you hold less than 20,000 points total (you can see this on your home page), any horse you create (not breed, only create) will have points already. Anywhere from like 90-1000, with around 100-300 being most common.

These horses can be pretty valuable, since depending on their age and the number of points, they may have a huge head start on lined horses or horses created without points.
