Thanks for the new Appaloosa Spot Regulator, Ammit
-
I made this stallion homozygous so he'll always be able to pass it on to his foals.

Big, spotty coats for days! I'm so excited :D
-
:D
I bred him to 4 appaloosa mares. Granted they weren't exceptional producers, so I wasn't expecting intact offspring, since he's an exceptional producer.
I got one filly that arrived with a copy of Llp. SBA neutered her, as expected.
Predanil
The two colts, both neutered, did not inherit Llp from either parent.
The other filly passed SBA, papered B, but did not inherit Llp naturally. Luckily, the game gives us the ability to do genetic modification, so I took her to the lab and gave her the copy she'd missed from her sire.
Legarin
Some days, genetic inheritance just doesn't go the way you'd prefer. At least we can adjust it in the game. :D
Thanks, Ammit.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2021-06-04 20:36:01 -
So far I’m not actually getting an increase in spot size to horses I add it to.
This mare’s blanket got bigger but her spots didn’t. If anything, they were smaller. Some rerolls got them bigger again
Px1 Highest Price
This stallion’s spots didn’t get bigger either and also might actually be a bit smaller than they were prior
Px1 Everythings Peachy
So I’m not really understanding how it works at this point. Both horses pretty much look like they would without. I should have taken before pictures. Neither had small spots before I added spot regulator.Post edited by paradoxphoenix at 2021-06-05 06:53:53 -
@paradoxphoenix, that's really odd. I added it to this mare who had little flecks for spots and hers ballooned up. Maybe a reroll might help?

@paradoxphoenix this is for turning smaller spots into bigger spots. Did you put it onto horses that already had huge spots? I am going to do a test with these horses so ignore the odd gmt tats that are going to show up.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Yup, it looks like you put this on horses that were already at basically max spot size. Two copies can get you slightly over max but it won't make it massive massive. I may need to look at tweaking that absolutely max though. Spots are not smaller though.Post edited by Ammit at 2021-06-05 07:15:54Need to contact me? Read this first.

Ooooooh. Ok! That makes sense!
It’ll still work for making their foal’s spot size more consistent instead of “Aw, man! This foal is perfect but somehow got tiny little spots!” so I’ll still get what I want in the end :D
(Although I absolutely would not mind a bigger max :)) :)) :)) )
I can’t wait to breed the mare to another stallion of mine who ended up throwing mostly small spots and see how it helps!

@paradoxphoenix I decided the gene will be making a larger max possible. That update will be out in the next day or two.Need to contact me? Read this first.

That’s awesome! Thank you so much, Ammit!

Will the change also affect few spots?
F Beyond Oblivion 13194206
This girl had big spots, added a second copy of Lp and the few spots she has are tiny. -
Few spots always have reduced spot size versus leopards. While hers are larger than they would be they will never be as big as on a leopard. You might be better with some rerolls.Post edited by Ammit at 2021-06-12 15:37:18Need to contact me? Read this first.
