In the "dun" spot I see this:
e/E A/A Cr/Prl nd1/- p/p -/R PATN1/-
what does the nd1 in the spot for Duns mean please? -
it means non dun 1, very faint markings
Licensed for:
All Axiom
Ice: 9, 13, 15-19
RR: wt, PBC, PBW, Nac
PHAN: dmsp, lace, sku, hrt, shm, jelly, pmk, bird, crit sun star.
Other: everything but SPM and jewel -
Here’s some examples-
Black with no other dilutions
2GBlu Almost Beautiful
Liver chestnut no other dilutions
2GBlu Beauty Is Pain
Bay no other dilutions
2GBlu I Got ItI mostly play on mobile so I can't usually see signatures!
Breeding Pearl Warmbloods, Little Red Riding Ponies, and... whatever else suits my fancy lol. -
but there is dun there at least? Can you breed it to a higher percent of dun especially if you need specific genes?
-
No, dun and non-dun 1 (ND1) are two completely separate genes, not a sliding scale (in game at least, haven’t researched it IRL).
Dun causes a more sharply defined stripe down the spine and sometimes leg stripes, and makes the coat lighter.
ND1 makes the coat lighter, with less defined darker areas around the spine and shoulders.
You can have both on the same horse, I’m a bit iffy on what exactly they do in combination but it sure looks neat!

I breed ND1/D livers. The expression varys...a lot! These have a lot of white-spotting as that's what I breed for, but they still show the coat colors.

@erisna my understanding from the gene guide is that D is dominant (not semi-dominant like axiom or co-dominant like kit) so in combination only D should express similar to how E/e works.
I think.Licensed for:

Yep, dun is dominant over nd1.I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!

The Dun and nd1 do interact a bit here in the game.
Here is blu's mare
LVR2A Ghost Master
Her nd1 smudging and shadowing is bolder and the coat still gets its dun dilution.
Compare to this mare with just nd1
LVR3a Ancient Timbers -
The expressions of both throw so many different colors! That why I breed livers that carry them. :DThanked by 1OopsDotCom

What do you mean by expressions, of colors livers that carry what?
-
Coat color. Putting ND1/Dun together makes many different coat colors. You can get het for both, hom ND1, hom Dun...just depends on how the genes fall. Each one of those throws a different coat color and different shades within that color.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

I've become a big fan of Dun + nd1 combos, and have worked nd1 into my dun lines over on HJ2. In general, the nd1 shoulder "cape" is more pronounced, but they also tend to skew colors a bit. A small sample:

They are two different versions of the SAME gene. ;)Post edited by Ammit at 2021-06-15 08:10:51Need to contact me? Read this first.

I Understand. I have two medications like that. You can take them separately, or you can take them together depending on your level of pain
