Can someone explain boosting?

    So I just bought this girl and totally forgot that Tan Lines were yellow papered, so I'd love to boost her to a red papered, but I'm not sure how it really works. Or if I can even afford it, I spent so much on my giftees :))

    I think it takes 2% to boost a Perfect Foundatation(Yellow) to Exceptional (Red)

    I did it with this Cherry Drop.

    All of the Rank Specials that are not Exceptional Producers or Exceptionally Perfect are Perfect Foundations. That means 100% breeding ability (Top of the Yellow/C breeding papers), 100% showing ability (9.9 PT) and perfectly consistent.

    To be a little nitpicky... Even if a 2% boost makes a perfect foundation red papered, an exceptional producer has 104% breeding ability, while a perfect foundation has 99% breeding ability. So a perfect foundation needs a 5% boost to be the same as an exceptional foundation.

    Another question about boosting, what happens to exceptional if they are boosted (104% + 5% ?). And how can I consider a blue/A papered horse.
