What are the Grayed out Genes?(CLOSED)
-
Seen that I do not have any of the “grayed out genes” an I was wondering what they looked like.Post edited by Tzano at 2021-09-21 09:44:05

If you click on them they will take you to search results where you can see what they look like.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

It only says I do not own any and nothing to click on either.

If you go to the Closed Gene list at the bottom of your member home page, you should see that the grayed out genes have a line under the name. Click there and wait. It does take several seconds for the search to complete and pop into view, but it does work.
I got in a hurry on the first of the genes and quit, but I waited a bit longer on the second and got results.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2021-09-18 12:42:13 -
I guess I may need to log out and back in. Mine doesn’t have the line underneath it.
-
You can also do it the hard way and search the genes in the horse search manually.Licensed for:
All Axiom
Ice: 9, 13, 15-19
RR: wt, PBC, PBW, Nac
PHAN: dmsp, lace, sku, hrt, shm, jelly, pmk, bird, crit sun star.
Other: everything but SPM and jewel -
Logging out and back in will only fix issues related to sessions like your upgrade being active. It can never help anything but that.
I am not sure why you are not seeing a link. Have you tried clicking the gene names?Need to contact me? Read this first.

I can click on all the others except the grayed out genes. I am not sure why.
-
It can't be an upgrade issue. I just checked on my free reference account and could click on any of the closed genes to see horses with them, even though I don't own any of them there. It does take what seems like a very long time, though, because the server is having to search everyone's accounts and is bringing back hundreds, even for the most popular of the genes, more than a thousand replies, and that takes a very long time.
I'm playing on a desk top computer. If you're playing on a phone, it may be timing out or something. -
@Tzano I think maybe you are talking about something different than we are. Are you talking about the gene test results on the horse page?Need to contact me? Read this first.

@Ammit I think Tzano is talking about the list of owned/not owned closed gene licenses on the homepage.I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!

Nightphoenix is correct, I was looking at genes I do not own to see what they look like to see if it was something I would like to add. I can not see and grayed out examples.Thanked by 1Nightphoenix

wait , now maybe I am confused ; you don't see any grayed out genes or you can't click the greyed out genes to see what they look like ?
-
Yep for your description, it is pretty unclear what you seem to be looking at. I got confused above when you said you could click on "all the others." I am not sure what others you are talking about. Also I don't understand what you mean by this "I can not see and grayed out examples."
What do you think you are not seeing? My grayed out genes are the 3 ice ones that are not colored in in this photo.
This is what I see. What are you seeing?Post edited by Ammit at 2021-09-21 09:16:01Need to contact me? Read this first.

Tzano there is nothing that should appear below "Grayed out genes are not owned by this player." The grayed out genes are mixed in with all the genes you own. They are the not colored in ones. Is that what is getting you confused?Need to contact me? Read this first.

Yes ma’am that is what had me confused. I thought it was a gene that was separate from the others. Sorry for the confusion. Thank youPost edited by Tzano at 2021-09-21 10:13:25
