I tried 2x - I don't understand, it says "ERROR: Horse must be a stallion or mare."

You don't need a license to buy genes with real money since you don't need to take possession of the horse to do it.

I'm not sure about the error you're getting though. I've only bought genes with real money once myself and that was years ago.

Yes, it is beautiful. I stretched all my resources, even turned in a few barns for IVs so I could grab it while it was in the GMT lab a few months ago. Even though I had the license from before, I just really wanted to start with my own foundation again. My first one passed on while I was away busy with RL and I never got the chance to use him. :(
