Showing Question
-
Hi, I have been playing HAJ for quite a while but never really got very into the showing side of the game, I was more focused on breeding. Now I am trying to get my show string together, which at the moment is mostly younger horses that were gelds/spays from my last few breeding seasons.
I love the new 'enter all' button for each barn, as it was near impossible to keep up with individually entering 100s of horses into shows every couple days. (Only a basic upgrade account)
However I have noticed that my show entries are usually around 14k and my winnings around 12k, which is fine because the daily showing bonus makes up for it at the end of each day (and my horses are still young and I am slowly weeding out the older ones that have leveled off in bad places).
BUT I went to the 'my show entries' page after i entered a few of my barns in shows (via the enter all button) and noticed that my horses had all been put into the same classes, eg 8 horses of mine entered into an 8 horse class and taking up every space. it was like this for every single one of my horses, including the 2 horse young classes. Does this not defeat the purpose of entering my horses into shows, if mine all have to compete against each other? Is there a way to organise my barns so that this won't happen, or is this the norm?
Sorry if this is super obvious, I really haven't done much with the showing system before :(
Thank you!HJ1: 133971 -
I don't have an answer for you but I've noticed this as well :( I usually end up going through and scratching horses from shows, and then going back and entering them into different ones.

Ammit has commented on this issue a couple of times before. She says, that if those horses couldn't beat their stable mates, then they likely wouldn't have done much better against horses from another stable. Another way to look at is--you got all the available points and cash prizes available for that show, so that may actually be a bonus.
It's a good idea to show your intact horses as well as the neuters. Since they are only pixel ponies, there are no consequences to having stallions and mares in the same class, or even a whole bunch of stallions. :D I just sorted my stable (all horses, neuters and intact) by lifetime points. The top 6 were all intact. When I sort by lifetime earnings, the top three are intact, and another 12 of the top 25 are as well.
P.S. Even if your horses level off in a bad place, hang onto them without showing them if they have a decent number of points. They will still be bringing income into your stable.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2017-01-08 17:57:58 -
That's true, if my ponies take up the whole class then they will clean up the places and prizes haha! I do show all my intact breeding horses as well, I'm pretty sure all of my top earners are intact :D I just got myself a premium upgrade, so I'm going to have a play around with the auto shower and see how I go.
Thanks for replying !HJ1: 133971 -
I have done the math and some data mining on the actual game. It completely does not matter if they show against themselves.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )
