IRL examples of Sooty+?
  • I've grown in fascination with Reining horses, primarily because I'm looking for a more stout, not huntseat type QH stallion to pair with my POA mare, but now more so because I'm seeing my favorite in-game genes oddly rich(?) in these performance type Quarter Horses, Cream, Dun, ND1, Champagne, and most especially Sooty+! I think!
I could be deceived, could be coat bleaching, but what do you guys think? Do you know of any other Sooty+ carrier studs out there?

  • Sooty plus is a game-only hypothetical gene based on real-life extensive sooty horses. It is not a real documented gene.

  • My paint mare has the Sooty plus like appearance but she's a dark bay tovero with something slightly lightening the belly that shows the spots along the dark bay. I don't think it's panagre as her nose is dark.

I also have another mare that is claimed to be a sorrel. She's a coppery red.

Then there's my gelding who was thought to be a chestnut but his coat was diluted and he has a dorsal stripe down his back and on his legs he has deep red stripes. The next year the breeder paired his parents again and his filly sibling genetically tested as a red dun. Both parents appeared to be dark bay but one must hold a dun gene .
