  • Can anyone help I'm stuck on what too do I've trained my horse but not sure what to do next
  • A few tips for you -

Show your horse twice weekly, train him regularly and run him through all free testing. (Gelding advice, Showing aptitude testing)

The way to make money in this game is through show horses. You make a percentage of money off of the total points your horse has, so more showing = more points = more money! There is a buddy chat for new players to join when they are looking for adoptable show horses to add to their herd. I've added you to the chat room, so be sure to stop in there ASAP and pick up a few of the horses for sale!

As far as breeding is concerned, it is a good business practice to breed evenly lined horses if you are looking to sell them in the future. You may choose to breed however you like, but most members like to keep their stock evenly lined. By evenly lined, I mean bred foundation horses together, then their foals would be considered second generation. Breed two second generation horses together and their foals would be considered third generation, etc. Pastures are a great way to breed your horses and get more intact foals. Please use all free testing for your foals and if you become an upgraded member, fully test them to insure that you are only keeping the highest quality stock intact for future breeding!

While there are many different ways to play this game, if you set a goal, it really does make it more interesting. By goals, I mean, you can breed for one specific color or one specific gene, breed to reach a certain quality by a certain generation, breed for high quality show ponies, breed specific sizes (ponies/horses, Riding horses/Warmbloods/Drafts) or any other objective you would like to meet.

There are many players on here who love to help new members and we always love to answer questions. There are also resources on the forum and on the menu to the left of your screen. If you have a question you can always make a forum post or private message a member. There is also a facebook group to join if you are into social media.

    Welcome and enjoy the game!

  • When I started a few years ago there were a few guides on the old forums that I read a few times to help me out.
Most of that information is now in the FAQ section (under 'Vital Links'): http://www.huntandjump.com/faq.php
Also the breeding info page gives you a lot of information about breeding: http://www.huntandjump.com/breeding_info.php
I'll also post the links to the old guides, some things are a bit outdated, like changes in the showing system where it is about points now instead of the money a horse earns, but it still gives a great overview about how to play the game. I'll post the links here: http://www.kinetocoredesign.com/forumdisplay.php?39-User-Guides-amp-Help and http://www.kinetocoredesign.com/forumdisplay.php?41-Member-Written-Guides

As High Five already said: everyone can play the game however they like. There is no right or wrong way. Only showing is very important here; your show horses give you money, so that's why you have to train your horses every week and show them twice a week to get the most points out of them and thus the most money!
