What age do horses "die"?
-
Title says it all
-
Every rollover from the time they turn 18 there is a chance that they will 'die'. In other words, they are safe until 17 years old, and after that, each rollover is a lottery. The oldest horse currently in the game is 39 years old!

Gotcha. I have a few over 20 SM and geldings, but I purchased 2 18 year old stallions in the auction for my breeding program and found that they died. I thought it was maybe at age 20 or something.

I lost my 1st horse last night. He was 20. "Your horse RS Lord of the Dance had lived a long full life, but now it was their time to go. They passed away peacefully in the night" - at least I have straws from him.ID: 273497
Licensed for everything but Ice 6, 11, 14, 19, 20 and Phantom

They become ineligible for breeding at age 20, if they survive to reach that age. They have a chance of aging out of the game when they turn 18 or older.
There are currently 130,719 horses over the age of 19 in the game!
