Could not edit horse an Error has Occurred.

Could not edit this horse. an error has occurred.
I haven't tried editing it after I got this message because I have no idea what this means.
I also need to understand, do w8 and w10 combined in the same horse kill it? I don't think I'm understanding this at all. -
What gene were you trying to edit on this horse that gave you the error?the error normally occurs when you cant change a gene. I have never gotten it on a foundation, only lined horses.
You should be able to GMT the W10 on the 2nd allele. When you GMT this, it will not be fatal. -
It sounds like you may be trying to erase the w8 with w10 and it is stopping you?Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Mine will say that when I run out of GMT tokensThanked by 1OopsDotCom

no, the little boxes say - on all 4 allelles. I am trying to get the satin on the horse. I got one sa, but not the others. I want both the w's together on this same horse.
I'll try to get more gmt's, perhaps that's the problem as was mentioned. -
oh, and if i want my satin to be hom, do I change all 4 to sa, or just 2? (this is a brindle horse.)Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2021-12-08 20:39:33

@OopsDotCom to answer your Hom satin question, if you add it through the roving gene sales it will automatically add satin to one strand of each set of DNA. Then you add another strand to make both sets of DNA hom.
But if you're adding through the GMT lab you will have to add each gene individually, including 2 on DNA set 1 and 2 on DNA set 2. In the gene mod lab you'll need to add it individually to each allele in both sets unless you change the inheritance to 100% on whichever set you want to modify and only add Satin to that set which would make it cheaper and makes the horse breed like a non chimeric horse.
In the roving gene sales you add it like you would a normal horse and it will be added to both sets automatically
Edit :
Example of inherentance just in case I confused anyone..

This mare had DP added to her primary set and had her primary inherentance changed to 100% so she'll only give her foals the genes from her primary set.Post edited by LEAcres at 2021-12-08 20:50:08Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
is DP dense -whatever it is? It seems to be on just about every horse I've looked at.

How exactly do I add to make a gene from the RGS?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2021-12-11 06:23:50

DP is Dense Pheomelanin (meaning that there is so much red pigment in the horse;s hairs that they look much darker than they would with normal amounts of red pigment).
To add genes from the RGS, select your horse using the drop-box above the list of available genes. You will see an option to add a gene to either the first or the second strand of a particular gene (the first strand holds genes provided by the sire, the second strand holds those from the dam). Select either strand and click to add that gene. Then do the same for the second strand. When dealing with a chimera horse, you would have to do this four times to make the gene homozygous on both gene sets. You will be charged the gene price for each copy you add to the horse. I've never added genes to a chimera myself, but I'm pretty sure that it will take four copies to made a horse homozygous for something on both gene sets.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
So should I want dp or dp/dp? Or not?
-
Ammit, I'm trying to add 2 genes that both have w, and my meagre knowledge just reminds me of the post on what horses not to breed (the chart) so I put just one gene on for now, and am hunting advice about the second.

Humbolt, you said this:
You should be able to GMT the W10 on the 2nd allele. When you GMT this, it will not be fatal.
i don't understand what you mean. -
And oh, I thing the error message it gave me was because I didn't have enough tokens to cover the cost.
