Confused by Gene Purchasing

    I decided to buy 2 Axiom genes for this foundation horse. I wanted the gene to be B/R, and I definitely screwed something up! I'm just not sure how to do it correctly next time. xD If anyone could help walk me through the process, I'd appreciate it.

    Here's what I did:
    1) Selected horse.
    2) Clicked this button.

    3) Came back to the page and clicked this button.

    4) Completed checkout.

    Now that I'm looking at everything again, my guess is I was supposed to click this button in step 3?

    I got confused because I thought the "strand 1" and "strand 2" were referring to the two different gene sets a chimera horse has. But they mean [strand1]/[strand2] in a SINGLE gene set? Whoops.

    If someone could confirm this for me so I can get it right next time, I'd appreciate it!

    I had the same issue before. If you want Homozygous genes on Brindles..
    you need to do the second strand on step 3. :)

    What if I want homozygous on one DNA set of a brindle, and heterozygous on the other? [scratches head in confusion] Or if I want heterozygous on both?

    EDIT: I poked around on the page a little more, and it seems like it's not possible to have one DNA set het and the other hz, since "Both strand one, OR both strand two will be changed by this edit." Well I guess that answers that question. lol

    @doragon, to do that you have to start with two separate horses, GMT them how you want each strand to appear, and then merge them.

    To answer your first question, yes you needed to select strand one and then strand two. You purchased both on strand one so they were both added to strand one.
