Rank Specials for Sale Plus Sugar Plum. Tips on pricing?
-
Sorry, I don't sell often, trying to sort out foundations horses and a lot of then got to go. All of these are rank specials. If I am pricing them too high for the special or because they are bred let me know. They are all relatively young still though. I also have a Sugar Plum Fairy I want to sell but don't know how much to put her up for in one of the group chats. https://www.huntandjump.com/adv_search.php?runsearch=go&status=sale&jump=0&owner=225641&128=0&129=0

My usual pricing is as follows(all with PT, Genetic, and Breeding Inspection testing done):
Regular creates - $4,100
ExPerf and ExPro - $4,500
Rank Specials - $5,000
They go up if their lifetime payout is higher, but those are the prices I start from. Lined horses are priced based on papers and PT, with the lower quality horses being sold for a little bit more than what it cost to create them. Fantasy horses definitely have a higher price, but I haven't really tried to sell any yet. There is a good price guide in the forum under Basic information for new players, by ConfluenceStable(I tried to put the link in but it's having issues). Scroll down to "How to Make Money Selling Pointed Creates" for the information. It was really helpful when I first started trying to sell horses.Post edited by MackZ at 2022-02-10 11:08:58 -
In terms of pricing, it’s also good to bear in mind the overall demand for the horse. Pointed creates are usually in demand and can be reliably sold for half their lifetime value or more. Plus extra for any rare genes like DP or snowflake.
Some rank specials are rarer or in more demand than others. When in doubt, you can do a search by herd helper and see what similar horses are listed as (search horses for sale with the herd helper name in the “tattoo name”). If I’m trying to sell fast, I’ll list a horse more in the middle or low end of what others are selling for.
Last I checked, Sugar Plums are quite rare and can often sell for over 100,000. There aren’t any currently up for sale, so you can search all Sugar Plum horses and look for the ones owned by someone who didn’t breed them. In their records will be their selling price.
Other rank specials like Freaky Friday or Conversation Hearts are more common and might go for something under 10,000 unless they also have points.ID #265959 | He/him | Breeding Black Satin, Liver, and Grullo Arcturus Horses | Licenses: Mushroom, DFP2, Onyx, Axiom Blue and Green
