    Curious about how that happened on this foal? I always assumed they were superior if they papered higher. I guess maybe the sire is a high B and he's a low A?

    That’s exactly it, I had a gold filly test AGA her dam. She was a low gold and her dam was a high blue

    Papering is based on a specific breeding ability. This colt is still better breeding ability but not enough of a difference to register as superior. Comparison testing is approximate, hence why it says about as good.
