Can somebody explain sun to me?

I just acquired a horse that is sun/Pearl. Can someone please explain sun to me and also how it presents in horses that don’t have Pearl or cream. Thank you.

Sunshine is a pearl-like gene that produces similar effects. I think there may be some shade differences between all of them. It either must be in homozygous form or paired with Pearl, Cream, or Snowdrop to give the pearl dilution effects to the coat.#243786

Sunshine and Snowdrop are recently discovered real genes. I believe they were found when horses that were phenotypically pearl were gene tested and found not to have the known pearl gene (or other known genes that could have caused the color). Further testing was then done to isolate the mutations and they were found to be variants of the cream/pearl gene.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.
