Good Morning , All my life I have loved horses , got my first pony as a 5th birthday present; my hunter pony was my 10th birthday gift ; and of course along the way created a Huge herd of Breyer models which I still collect to this day.

I have always adored horses, especially the Shires! I just joined today(2-9-2022) and I am already running wild lol. I will probably read up more on how to play before I continue going crazy but anyways, hello everyone, glad to join.

Hi olivia13! Welcome to the game. Best tip is to read the various beginner guides available. The FAQ/User Guide on the left menu is the best, and there are also some beginners tips at the top of the main forum. The VERY best part is that everyone is really nice, around here, and will be glad to give you a hand getting started, if you ask!

hi Confluence, I have millions of questions! would it be good for me to have a mare or a stallion with an actual pedigree? Did I understand correctly, if i do not click a "breed" button on my pastured mares and stallions, on the 15th they will automatically breed? (for free?) is it worth waiting 2 weeks to breed?

Breeding on the 14th is not free, you are charged for 'vet fees'. Plus, the pasture won't breed if a stallion is not in it when the game rolls over from the 14th to the 15th.

Many people start out with Foundation (1st generation) horses and work their way up to 'actual' pedigrees so they can consider the lines their own. Other people start out buying lined horses (horses with an 'actual pedigree'). Some people are sticklers for even pedigrees (Foundation to Foundation, 2nd generation to 2nd generation). Other people like mixing the generations. It is all up to how you want to play!

In general the gender of the foals, and the percentage of colts to fillies is pretty random.

if you move a mare from one pasture to another, does the days in pasture count start all over again?

Nope, it continues to accrue as long as you dont put her in a barn. If she just gets moved around in pastures, her count will continue.

well, I am studying genetics like I should have when I took genetics class :D I am still not really certain what the heck i want to breed for, and I am looking at some of my original stallions with a stink eye, but I'm going to let everyone do the deed and see what I get. It's a fascinating educating game. I've always loved genetics (except during that 7:30AM genetics class I flunked out of twice as a dewy eyed lass) and this is so much more convenient than actually breeding animals. Thanks to @Ammit for making this game!

Hello everyone, I haven't taken time to introduce myself yet but I'm really enjoying the game and love how laid back it is while still being genetically true in colors. I grew up on the back of a horse, have owned several and even had my own riding lesson program for a couple years. My family has a history within the AQHA for both breeding and showing/rodeoing.

I am also known as AdvantageHillFarms within this server. I typically have several horses for sale or auction on either account. If you see one you are interested in please reach out and I may negotiate.
