today is my 5th day here. I can't believe this place has been around for over 10 years and I just found it!
I'm a City kid but have always loved horses, in fact, my first drawing according to my mother, was of a horse.
I moved to Idaho when I was in my 20s and bought my first horse 2 years later. It was great, I rented pasture for 10 or 15 dollars a month.
but I could never afford property or an actual breeding program, but I was fascinated with breeding genetics and memorized blood lines when I wasn't drawing horses.
life got in the way and I married and had to leave Idaho in search of employment. sold the horses, had kids. kids grew up, and I still love horses, so this is a wonderful diversion for me.
I still draw and paint horses, my avatar is one of my little paintings.

I only take lessons, I dont own any horses myself but I love horses. In fact, 80% of the apps on my phone are horse games. I am Getting my first snake in a month but I have 2 fish and 2 dogs. Sadly my crowntail betta has a tumor on his fin that has cancer and he might pass soon even though I have removed all sharp decor in his tank and tried meds but nothing has worked.

I opened this account with a goal to raise hbs to buy vouchers for barns and for future renewal of Basic Upgrade and merge.
I'm not working as I have Stage IV terminal cancer.
Had dairy goats and chickens but they were sold. I wasn't able to care for them through chemo. Chemo didn't work. I have nine big dogs. They are family. Seven German Shepherds and two Anatolian Shepherds.
I've loved horses since I was a toddler. My fist word was "horsey" as told by my parents.
I really enjoy genetics with all the color combos.
Bettas' are wonderful with all their varieties. LavenderRidge may your Betta have a good quality of life and not suffer.

Hi! I am a newbie here and still trying to figure out what I want to breed for and how the game works. One thing that is bugging me is I can't find a really good place to 1. See clear examples of what each color/marking term means. And 2. How to find out what some of the named color combinations actually ARE (ex. Chocolate Palomino, Grullo, Liver, etc.) like which color genes are needed to create that. I know under the Genetics page there is some info and photos but I still don't understand what Sabino or Tobiano is. I still don't understand what makes all the W markings different from each other. Have no idea what Frame is. Is there a page I haven't found yet that explains all this better?

Hi, impossibleview! Welcome to the game. Probably your best bet would be to check out the Search page. You can put 'Liver' in the color name box and it will pull up all the horses which have been tested, and have liver in the color name. That way you can then go look at the horses individual page and see which genes they have.

You can also search for the different genes, though it is a bit more difficult. You will need to go to the white markings tab on the search page and set the different genes to Must Have, one at a time.

Mostly I would say, give it time! A lot of people started out not knowing much about how the genes work, and have learned it along the way.

@impossibleview - One thing I have found to be helpful is the horse search. You can find pretty much any gene combination by using the search features. This way, you get to see many different examples of how each gene works and interacts with other parameters. If you want to see what a specific color is, you can put it in the "color name" box. You can also use Google search to find explanations on what Tobiano, Frame and Sabino are. I would explain them, but the APHA explains them best. All three are Pinto patterns. Just wish I did! I’ve spent a lot of my life around horses But have never had the chance to own one myself. I now work at a barn that allows me to spend some quality time with them. My favorite is a Palomino Gelding named Sampson.

Hi, this is my second account (I'm silverborn on forest). I wanted to make a new account partially because now i know what i like breeding for and i want to see how long it takes a fresh start account to save up IVs for a 1000 stall barn.
I work as a vet tech in a small animal clinic and have a dog, 3 rats, and i help my dad care for his many freshwater fish. I hope to get mice in the next few months, but the logistics of adding them are difficult.
I did horse riding from third grade through college and then had a bad fall from a green pony that resulted in a concussion and chip fracture in my neck. That led to the discovery that i have a rare genetic condition where bones in my neck were fused from birth (more accurately, didn't separate) and because of the types of injuries i had from that fall it's unsafe for me to ride again. Giving up horse riding felt like splitting my soul in pieces and i spent years mourning the loss, then one day was able to bring myself to join this game on forest.
And now here i am on bluegrass too! Whee~
