GMT Project Opinions?
-
I'm thinking about adding Splash M and hom ND1 to this boy, but I'm not sure. I could also just call him done as he is. What do you think?
CLRS12 Puddle Jumper gmt -
Splash M will lighten his body color - you might lose some of his distinctive coat color. ND1 might take away your dapples - I can't recall how much it changes the dark coats. I know I have lost dapples on bays because the nd1 pulls the darker pigment to points - similar to dun.Thanked by 1Cavalynn

Maybe, though I love how ND1 darkens the topline, and the phantom puddles should bring back some of the color in the Splash M lightened areas. I definitely don't want to lose the dappling, but see a lot of silver black chinchillas with hom ND1 that kept it. Maybe that's just a matter of rerolling?
These silver black chinchillas with hom ND1 and Splash M look great I think. Is it likely it would take a few rerolls to get it to look like that?

I think you'd lose this specific color with a reroll because of the toner. I wouldn't risk it personally. But if you really want to add those to him do it. How do you want the babies to look? Cause if you really want offspring with those genes then I'd say just go for it.Thanked by 1Cavalynn

Thanks for your input, @Humboldt and @Wolvevenfrost! I think I'll leave him as he is and just look for ND1 in his mares. And maybe I'll find a 2G boy with Splash M to breed into the line later. :)

@CLynnRose ; Splash M is a Licensed gene ; so you ll need to either GMT or Buy it onto a Foundation horse :)

@annismyrph, Thanks but I have the license. I've bought it a couple times before, once in the RGS and once in the lab.
