    I have a 32 year old mare who is still kicking and has a ninth-generation descendant born this season!

    I was six generations down the line before I found a living descendant. This old gal has outlived all her direct orogeny several generations down! But for some reason it was comforting to see new generations still coming from her lines to enter my breeding programs.

    What's the most generations any of you have between a still-living horse and their descendants?

    That is quite an achievement! Kudos to this long-lived foundation to an extended line. Congratulations!

    Edited to add that most of my horses are foundations and 2nd gens, so I can't come anywhere near to having anything like this mare.
