Is it the "university" that won't let me edit genes on this horse? ⛝ Closed

It looks like you accidentally cloned a different horse.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

I still can't clone it, though. (the adult)Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-05-25 17:43:49

The adult is in the auction #1 and #2 ; you didnt breed him
I think those are the reasons you cant clone him -
The baby clone isn't gene tested. That would prevent you from editing genes on her. But that doesn't seem to be a clone from the adult you posted. It's a different gender and different era.
-
Ok, gotcha, I understand. Thanks for explaining about the baby.
Why can't I clone the adult shown, its name doesn't come up on the list I can clone or edit. I don't want to lose his axiom gene.Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-05-25 20:50:01 -
The adult you posted was bred by McCaslandFarms, and you can only clone horses that you bred or created yourself.

@OopsDotCom- I'm sure I have some lined axiom I could sell you if interested.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Thanks Lynn for spotting that.
And thanks, Magic, I have one ice I (I'm not sure if that's a capital i or a one) on one horse, and an axiom W I need to buy before it gets auctioned off and I lose the license, if you have any of those. Not terribly old though please. -
@OopsDotCom you will not lose the license by auctioning a horse. You only lose a license by transferring a foundation with said license through the gift exchange :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

Phew thank you, Hayes.
On the gene licenses page where it shows the genes you do and don't own, what is the number in parentheses beside the gene name? I thought it might be the number of horses having that gene, but it doesn't make sense, For example, HRT says (1) but I have about 50 Heart horses. -
It’s the number of licenses you own. My understanding is that you get a licence every time you buy a gene through the upgrade store.
For example, if you bought Watercolour twice you would have two licenses even if you currently own 50 horses with that gene or 0. If you then gifted a foundation horse with Watercolour during the gift exchange, you would go down to only having 1 licence, as Hayes mentionedID #265959 | He/him | Breeding Black Satin, Liver, and Grullo Arcturus Horses | Licenses: Mushroom, DFP2, Onyx, Axiom Blue and GreenThanked by 1OopsDotCom -
can the gift exchange only transfer foundations or can it take lined horses too? I can't remember from last ge.
-
The gift exchange will transfer lined horses, but it only transfers gene licenses with foundation horses. So, you can only send lined horses with licensed genes to your recipient if they already have the license, but you don't have to worry about losing your own licenses if you send lined horses.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

I think it can transfer any horses, but only foundations can bring a copy of a gene license with them to the new owner.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Ok, thank you. Got it.
