"Record Missing" in award lists
-
Going through past season award winners to use the tack editor, and finding multiple horses are listed as "Record Missing" instead of a name or number. When you click on that, it says No horse with that number is found, or something like that. I've tried a horse search for "Record Missing" as a name, and get a blank page. They were not foals, since they had clearly been registered, earned points, or had foals to put them in a top 10 season ranking.
Horses who have died are listed with a red ARCHIVED tag. Horses I have sold since their win still show up with the new owner's name. Where are the "Record Missing" horses, and how can I find them?

Horses that die or are sold back to the game without any decedents (or eggs or straws, I think) are not archived, but are deleted from the game. There's no way to get them back or retrieve any further information about them after that.Thanked by 1ConfluenceStable

Pretty sure they also have to have living descendants to be archived, so if their foals were all spelded without reproducing then they would be removed from the archive when the last one died or was sold back to the gameStarstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

Also if you auction back to the game or sell back to the game they will have that notice if they had no foals

I have never sold horses back to the game. These were horses who won championship trophies and top 10 ribbons. I would not have auctioned them. There are no missing records in the award lists after year 115 or so. If they were geldings and spays who aged out without being archived, do we have any other way to keep track of the records? Thanks

Maybe you could post links to the exact horses that are showing as missing? Otherwise I can only assume they were altered show horses who aged out. There's no way to make sure they stay archived in the game if they have no living decedents, except for them to be accepted as HaJ Ambassadors. The only way to keep track of their records would be to save their pages ahead of time to your own device, or copy and paste their information into another document. If you have a premium upgrade, maybe periodically downloading your herd's spreadsheet could help you keep track of their records, but I've never downloaded the spreadsheet so I'm not sure how much information is included in it.

@Ammit, maybe horses with awards could also be immune from being deleted? I've often thought it's kind of sad when looking through the awards records to not be able to see the old award winners. Otherwise altered show horses will pretty much always end up deleted.Thanked by 1DarklingFarm

CLynnRose and Ammit, that's a great idea. If horses with awards were not deleted, that would be awesome! Even if the horses aren't archived, if the award list just saved the name, that would be nice.
There is no way to get links to post (I have tried). All you get is a page that says No horse exists with that ID.Proud member of WreckItRalph Anonymous -

This *might* link to a "record missing" showing up in an awards list, if not it's my awards list from year 97 era 9 breeders club. -
The problem with that idea is it would require the archiving of every single ancestor of that horse which could mean one award now could prevent hundreds of horses from being removed from the game. Could work on keeping the name though.Need to contact me? Read this first.

DarkwatchStables - Yes, that's exactly what I'm asking about! Thanks for posting one.

Is there a way I wonder to just save an image of the horse instead of fully archiving the horse along with it's ancestors? No idea what that would entail as far as coding and space requirementsStarstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Just save the horse and let its pedigree be record missing?Thanked by 1DarklingFarm

I am not interested in creating broken pedigrees. If a horse is special enough to you you can nominate it to be an ambassador though.Post edited by Ammit at 2022-06-02 21:26:27Need to contact me? Read this first.
