breeding advice vs SBA?
  • ok, I managed to make sure all my horses passed breeding advice but am at the precipice with SBA..
What percentage of horses are going to fail?
    Can anyone tell me?
    Thanks

  • A decent amount more will fail, but even though it's painful it's worth it. I only have a basic upgrade on the other servers and my lines are improving so much slower without SBA testing

    Betony707 on Forest & Mesa
  • I don't think there is a set percentage but as Starstruck said, it will be worth it. You will "lose" some that hurt but your lines will be better for it. I won't even look at my foals until after running SBA so I don't get attached :-))

  • if you go to the page that has all the testing and scroll down a bit you ll see "Comparison Test" the first name listed is the same sex parent. If he tests SUP to sire, then you know your lines are heading in the right direction :) If he tests AGA or Worse i usually snip them and then depending on generation either keep them as show horses or toss them in auction.

  • oh really! Ok, I didn't know what horses it was trying to compare them to.
  • well, Thanks, AnnisMyrph, I tested some of my stallions, and only one came out worse than the sire. That was actually a pleasant experience after the bloodbath with the mares.

  • Lol. Yup, there's been cases where I converted extra sup sons to fillies instead when I needed girls and I already had one sup son that I liked the looks of.

  • I only had a basic upgrade for quite a while. When I got premium and was able to SBA I went through and did it, but wow did it hurt at first. I lost so many breeding horses, but in the end it was worth it because my overall quality increased by quite a bit.
