why do horses sometimesa win but still lose points?
  • I have several decent horses that have shown well. But they have sometimes lost points, even whilst winning at shows. Could anyone please explain why this is? Thank you.
  • I didn't think it was possible for horses to lose points? Can you screenshot the record?

  • Or link to the horse that you see this on?
  • Horses can’t lose points, but the daily payout/lifetime payout can decrease :)
I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!
  • I have received negative results during shows. See show record of horse below:

  • Negative show scores are totally possible. That doesn’t make the horse lose points that it has already won. Show scores and points earned from shows are two different things.

  • So the score column is basically the score they were judged at in the show. It is separate from the points they earn. That horse is inconsistent, so its score will be different from show to show, even though it has leveled off its training. Your horse's score will be compared to the other horses' scores in each show - ranking is based off of that score. Points are award based on show ranking, not show score.

For example, on May 30, her 1 point score resulted in a 2nd place finish, because the other entry in her show scored higher. On June 6, that 1 point score was enough to get first place instead, because the other show entry scored lower.
